Weird after just thinking of him due to the reference in the Weird Al movie. As a kid, I loved watching his act. As an adult, I was glad to have watched his act as a kid, so that I understand the myriad of references to him and his act that are still happening to this day!

Patton Oswalt said there’s probably a whole James Ellroy novel in whatever the hell happened to turn a guy as happy-go-lucky as he was early on into such a bitter racist jerk.

I’ve always been surprised Lene Nystr0m didn’t catch on more.  She had a solo album or couple of songs that were fire.  Two thumbs up to Aqua!

Walk Hard is a work of genius and the music is absolutely outstanding. The way everything is played straight is amazing, and that they pull from so many different musicians’ stories is fantastic. I highly recommend getting the soundtrack if you don’t have it yet.

Given the existence of The Compleat Al, does this mean that there is now a Weird Al Yankovic multiverse and WACU?

I’m all in favor of more Walk Hards as music biopics continue to hit every single genre trope without irony.

Seemed like a clear parallel to OJ’s observation that the UFO is a predator that cannot simply be tamed for entertainment

“his whole PR image at the time was satanism”

Let’s reflect on the existence of The Jackie Thomas Show, a sitcom in which Tom Arnold played a guy who was bad at being in a sitcom.  (I actually saw every episode and liked it, but talk about being given lemons and making lemonade.)

I’m starting to get the impression Netflix doesn’t know what it’s doing.

My immediate reaction to that was “it’s going to be more like Brickleberry or Paradise PD” and it turns out it’s the same people.

I’d rather have more of that April Fools Australian version.

Except Hang the DJ is nightmare fuel.

That’s because there isn’t anything they can be used for that isn’t already being done with simpler technology.

This really is a brilliant, delightful show, and I’m here for it! Glad to see it’s taking off with other viewers as well.

I love this show. Lisa Ann Walter and Sheryl Lee Ralph are obvious standouts, but I think Quinta Brunson is a very appealing lead too.

I had forgotten about this, it’s a classic. Also reminded me to revisit Chop and Steele of Found Footage Festival

The Warrens are certainly hucksters. But here’s what bugs the shit out of me about them (and it makes me judge the movies harshly because they are portrayed as these Christian do-gooders): they are hucksters of the worst possible sort because their livelihood is taking advantage of the bereaved. People who are

I’m guessing that you have never actually talked to an anime fan, because you couldn’t have been more hilariously wrong if you tried. Anime fans don’t want live action remakes of anything, let alone the stone-cold classics that would be nearly impossible to improve. And because there’s nothing live action can do that

I’ve seen the film. It’s great.
