I think it's just that americans, rightly or wrongly, perceive the BBC as being Total Quality Television, where it's usually stuff that's somehow educational or just plain better than US TV. Like, not something that would run The Personal Space Show.

Pretty much exactly. I also felt that this one was a one of the more muddled episodes that SP usually do. It's a little surprising that the season premiere is one of the muddled ones, since presumably they had more than six days for that one.

I saw it in that sense for about 5 minutes before GamerGate happened. I think "SJW" in that sense was just about to gain traction, which is why the MRA/Gamergate idiots latched on to it so hard and, thus, converted SJW into an unabashed badge of honor.

well, OBVIOUSLY, it's CLEARLY Scott Aukerman, jeeez.

I did love the bit about fixing the chyron if it's wrong. Which they did.

(that's kinda the OZ Review. The thing I like about US review is that, unlike Myles Barlow, Forrest _doesn't know_ he's a sociopath.)

I also learned the other day it's worth it to freezeframe on the Review opening pages.

Perhaps it'll be that everyone goes up a level. Next season, Morty will be S3 morty, Summer will be the equivalent of Morty now, and maybe Jerry will be the new Summer.

Yeah — I think in the article the statement about how Summer's plot could have been a Morty story — and I somewhat disagree. I think it could have been an Season 1 Morty story, sure, but I don't think it'd work as well with S2 Morty.

I also noticed that there's TONS of freeze frame gags in the intro. Each page of Forrest's notebook is pretty much readable.

Yeah - I think the key to doing a successful dark comedy is consequences; if it's just people going through life being awful to everyone but everyone's just cool with it at the end and they hug or whatever, it's bullshit.

I don't think they're gonna do this, but it'd be kind of hilarious after all the whole "oh god, when does Forrest kill his dad" foreshadowing/just knowing how Forrest rolls, if Forrest killed him through neglect, and Mr. MacNeil died in the haunted house somehow. PERHAPS VIA FRIGHT???

Yeah — my guess is that had the old person pen pal come from a larger city, he would have asked for the street address. AND WOULD HAVE STILL GOT THE ZIP RIGHT.

Uh, pretty sure they did? I think Forrest even says something about being denied something earlier (before house 1 burns down) because he's a suspected arsonist.

The first couple episodes of Bojack S1 are kinda rough. Watch up to at least Episode 4 or 5 before making a decision — that's about the moment when it goes from "eh" to "awesome".

Gravity Falls became Rick & Morty so gradually, we hardly even noticed!

haha, yeah — I loved that Dipper only thought the tie was ethically AMBIGUOUS.

I would kind of like some sort of curveball where Ford just basically stomps Li'l Gideon, and defeats him handily and UTTERLY before dealing with Bill Cipher. Because you know that's coming too.

(either that or one of the other dimensions has an AWESOME one, and we're just stuck with the lame one in whichever dimension this is)

There's presumably a Space Pentagon, too.
