Once I had to deliver something to a retired judge that lives in the Carmel Highlands. He invited me in and gave me a tour. Holy shit that house was stunning and so was the view. Retirement goals!

Have they even filmed at cannery row? My husband and I stayed in Monterey last year for a weekend, but we didn’t even do anything in Monterey except eat dinner. We went to Carmel Valley and went wine tasting instead.

Yeah. Monterey really isn’t that great. There are some nice areas, but Carmel is a lot nicer. It definitely isn’t a suburb of the bay area. I currently live in the SF Bay Area, in the East Bay. I used to live in Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz on down through Santa Barbara is considered the Central Coast.

I just want to point out that most of the opening credit images are of Big Sur, not Monterey. The very top of Big Sur is 24 miles south of Monterey. It always bothers me that they try to act like Big Sur is Monterey, it isn’t, and Carmel is in between them, along with a bunch of open space. I don’t think anyone living…
