Oh, God, I just started tearing up reading this. Surely they can find a way to bring that dog to her!

@fulanita: Yes. My whole family is voting for Obama, and my dad's side is all Catholic. As am I.

How is that a worstie? She explained in the thread that she was alluding to the thread where someone called Abbie Cornish a whore.

Probably because it's TOO OLD FOR HER.

I have been watching a lot of arguments over ACORN on the interwebs this week. It is amazing how many people simply do not understand that others are in positions where they don't have fixed addresses, don't have the $50 it takes in some states to get one's driver's license replaced, etc.

I always love the stories in David Sedaris' books about how it bothered their father that Amy, who was the best-looking of the Sedaris kids, always insisted on making herself look grotesque by wearing fat suits, etc. She is so pretty but not afraid to look terrible in the name of comedy.

@SarahMC: I don't either. If I did, they'd receive a reply-all response with some carefully chosen words. The only person I know of in my family who's leaning toward McCain is my aunt, who apparently likes Sarah Palin and thinks we should support her because she's a woman, so there's just no hope for her.

Hurray! I can't wait to watch this. Amy lives a few blocks from me. I keep hoping to run into her.

@Understater: I think Harry looks like Charles, even though he is maybe the child of that other guy he looks exactly like, even though Prince Charles doesn't really look like the other guy.

@winterfruits: I wasn't thinking the cruel joke route at all. If anything, I would think they would do it to be extra nice to her.

@Political Party Girl: I came into this thread for the express purpose of making that same joke.

@KittenFluff: What I mean is, women will read books written by men and think nothing of it. I don't know a lot of men who read books written by women.

@KittenFluff: Wow, that was crappy punctuation. Let's try again: I think the real question is, are there are any FEMALE writers who appeal to both sexes equally?

I think the real question is are there any FEMALE writers who appeal to both sexes equally.

@sammyboombaladdy (snowboardervxn): The first few episodes I watched I thought Hank was a complete douche and the show was a stupid male fantasy about some guy who really isn't happy fucking his way through LA anyway. Maybe it hit a nerve because my ex was promiscuous before we met and I know it was his way of dealing

So people keep calling Hank Moody a sex addict but I think he's just a guy who gets a lot of ass. If he were a true addict he would have cheated on Karen but he never did; she's the one who cheated on him with Bill.

"However, a few years ago I ran across something in another old etiquette book - I wish I could remember which - that suddenly really made all this a lot clearer. The gist was: the basis of all good manners is kindness - putting others at ease, making sure no one is uncomfortable."
