Re: Kristoff not working as a female character:

Stay strong buddy. You can do it.
Just think how much better it will be if you wait!

Those are all excellent points and when you put it like that I agree with you. They would have to start working on Captain Marvel's name recognition pretty much immediately though, I doubt many non-comics fans have really heard of her. Which tends to suggest... That you are totally right. No girl heroes for the

You know what the problem is? Clive Owen isn't in it. (Where is Clive Owen?)

They're people damnit!

Thankyou Charlie Jane. For once I am not the only one crying out "won't someone PLEASE think of the henchmen?!"

I know it makes me a bad person but I really hope that is true. The Laurel character has progressively less and less to contribute to a show about superheroes (although I have taken a perverse pleasure in her downhill slide this season). I would be surprised if they killed her off in the season finale though just

I agree that it looks unlikely although I also think they are stupid not to, because I'm not the only girl going to see marvel movies - purely anecdotally I would say the audience for their movies is a 50/50 gender split. The audience is ready for a female superhero and there is no reason to think they aren't.
If

I have it on reasonable authority that this is also the issue that is holding back the prospect of a solo female superhero movie. Girls don't buy superhero action figures so girls don't get a female superhero. Never mind other merchandising.

I don't know, I seem to remember a quote somewhere where I think Kevin Fiege talked about having lots of different genre movies shot within the MCU. If Winter Soldier makes good money as an espionage thriller it's not out of the question for them to look at a Black Widow solo movie.

Yeah, gotta say that carbs are not actually the problem per se, it is actually sugar (which of course heavily processed carbs break down into very easily) that is the big bad of the western diet. Complex carbs are actually very good for you.

Oliver and Sarah are basically the same person at this point. Self obsessed brat pre-island? Check. Betray Laurel? Check. Go through some crazy shit on the island? Check. Come back to Starling with a vendetta and pile of secrets? Check and check.

Well when I say "full order" I mean 10-12 episodes instead of 3-6 which is sort of the UK standard now for anything with high production values.

I'm assuming that HBO just aren't really down with the UK miniseries schtick and want a full order of episodes. I agree though that it seems impossible for them to make a better product than the original. (Especially because I can't help but expect them to cast "pretty people" and soften the edges of the more shocking

I literally just watched A Field in England before coming on here and it was incredible. The same team working on a JG Ballard novel is excellent news.

I'm pretty certain this is legit, I read this site sometimes and Sarah (the author of the post) has a lot of contacts at marvel studios (although i'm not sure in what capacity).

Yes! Thankyou! Not to mention the fact that London is also three or four times the size of Paris. That skyline in the picture is just one tiny part of the biggest city in western Europe.
I feel incredibly sorry for anyone who comes away from London thinking that it is soulless, when it is actually incredibly culturally

The waterfall is just too sexy and they will do anything they must to escape it.

I honestly just watch Agents of SHIELD at this point in order to discuss how to fix it. The fact that so many people seem to be doing the exact same thing does tend to suggest that it is worth saving, even if it also says that it is still broken.
