The Vibe Guy, Apparently

As someone that has also dealt with Aspergers, I can completely sympathize with you. And while it seems like I got myself out of some of the worst of it, I'm still very socially anxious. I've learned to socialize by watching others and having a pun every now and then. I'm social enough to work without too many issues,

Doesn't quite float that well, but she'll run like a champ once she's out. A friend of mine owns it, so I got to hear the stories and such.

Pontiac Vibe GT. Actually does rather well.

I think that's a form of XKCD's nerd sniping.

I really can't pin my love of cars on anything. From day one I've been into them. Almost like I was created to be in love with them. I'm an aspie, and of course if we get into something... We REALLY get into it. And cars just never end. Ever. But nothing keeps me loving them. It's like this strange love where it is

Maybe not the way normal people drive them...

Reading about how to drive is different than actually becoming a better driver. You might be better informed, but knowing what a DUI vs DWI is won't help when someone tries to jump in front of you and you have no way of stopping. Defensive driving courses should be te number one way to to improve your driving skills,

Jalopnik and the GM recalls are like CNN and MH370

I'm considering moving to Michigan for school. And every time I get people saying things about how dangerous Flint is. I get that there is some credit to this, but would I be right in saying it is blown out of proportion?

Come on, people... de-mod your cars before you sell them. Nobody has your specific taste, and any one thing could throw off a buyer.

XKCD has you covered

I saw a little tidbit where a Mercedes designer said they put the screen on the dash instead of integrated because, 'You don't mold a TV into your wall, you mount it.' I do see where he was coming from, and I honestly really like how they did it. It doesn't look like an afterthought, it looks like they put the screen

I also find these interesting. Especially the RMS Olympic, the first and only survivor of the Olympic class ships (Titanic sank, Britanic hit a mine and sunk during her wartime service as a hospital ship). Olympic was a troop carrier, and I believe the only merchant-type ship to sink a submarine during the war

This trend isn't new at all. Automakers way back in the 50s were using grilles are styling pieces, when only a portion of it allowed air into the radiator. Only difference now is material (a product of time) and size optimization.

I have an Ultra-Gauge in my car, and it probably gets more attention than my speedometer. It can show up to eight different things on one 'page,' and has five 'pages' you can scroll through with displays and averages of fuel economy, speed, engine temp, intake air temp, O2 voltages, tripmeters, pedal pressure, etc

The hobby shop I work at actually has a Tamiya Subaru Brat in used, and the body is immaculate. Like they painted it as a model to look at. It looks way too good to actually drive.

Is it just regulation that keeps Euro-market cars from being legal in the US? What's so different between the US standards and Euro NCAP standards? It isn't as if the car is a deathtrap for all areas that aren't under US regulation.

Vibe is a totally different body than its Matrix cousin, so not really badge engineered. Though I do love my Vibe. Good styling and reliable simplicity for GM resale.

The GT-R concept did go on the auction block at Barret Jackson, I believe. Were on scrap titles, but sold for a decent amount. Along with the Autocross concept, and GXP. I guess someone wanted it enough.

I've got a friend I met through GenVibe.com with a turbocharged 04 Vibe GT who knows where this car ended up. He wants to contact the owner and see if he can makes copies of that body kit.
