Thus begins the "IT LOOKS LIKE THIS" season in the automotive world. It's called styling trends. Every car can be placed in an era, and all share some traits. Also, don't tell me cars used to "look different," because you're lying. Modern cars are more distinct than ever before.

Even though we already know the answer we need a "Will It Baby?" of Torch's classic Beetle, just so we know the benchmark all others are compared against.

Eh, close enough. A 4-cyl to 4-cyl conversion isn't too out there, but I would be interested in the end product.

My view is, if it's possible, then why not? Maybe not a gag but if you have a shell here and an engine there, why not? If this was an Echo motor into anything but a performance oriented car nobody would bat an eye. It's the reaction that people get when you see a Toyota 4-cylindar in the back of a Porsche that would

I love this for the same reason you do, Torch: it reminds us to not take things too seriously. It'd be interesting to see, definitely. Then again I want to see what would happen if you put a fully-built 1.6l Fiesta rally motor into a Mustang and, likewise, a 1.6 Ecotec from the BTCC Cruze into a C6 Corvette. Heck,

It's the only way Cadillac has a future; to keep fighting the Euro rivals. That said, I personally lust after Cadillacs. BMWs have no appeal to me anymore. GM as a whole as improved by leaps and bounds, but Cadillac is on their way to meeting their tagline. Hopefully it's their mission statement as well - The Standard

This rhetoric is actually changing. The CTS-V proved Cadillac can fight, now it just needs to get more Euro customers. It will happen so long as Cadillac keeps up the fight.

It's GM. All they did for years was fight the Mustang in horsepower wars. They were MADE to do this!

I thought it meant "bird." That's how I remembered it for Spanish class.

As someone who has used just the rear drums to stop his car from 50mph to a gentle stop, I can attest that drums aren't that bad... Heck, it seems like the discs I have up front are almost overpowered for my car's uses.

That said, rear discs are more performance/safety oriented, and it is becoming the norm. Probably

Everyone is fixated because he locked up his brakes. By modulating pressure he could've avoided hitting the rail (most likely). If the wheels of the Lotus would have been rotating, and tires screeching until it hit the grass, then it would have been a small mistake to cause a collision. No way am I saying that I would

I am of the opinion that if these drivers knew their cars a little better, and if they had softer inputs and better pedal pressure (when not ABS equipped, eg: that Lotus that slides backwards with the brakes locked) they could have gotten out unscathed. That said, I'm in a chair in America, and do not know this corner

Will it work with my Spektrum radio, though? And which hobby shops will carry parts for it?

Akio is truly awesome. I wonder if he'll start reading Jalopnik now. Maybe you should invite him for a Q and A.

The HPI E10 is a simply entry-level 4wd touring car R/C vehicle. Not really meant for racing, juts driving around and having fun, maybe drifting.

Traffic is caused by improper following distances, and not enough reaction time. If someone doesn't realize they're going faster than the car in front, they'll slam on their brakes, causing it to ripple down the lane. They will keep going to max speed and slamming on their brakes not realizing, hey, maybe they should

I like the idea, but the hatch would need to open sideways, or the wheel would need to swing out of the way of the hatch. Otherwise that's some intense weight for the hatch struts if they want to open upwards.

Thanks Bob... for bring back everyone who romanticizes the Pontiac brand, or has an opinion about the bailout. Just as we had finally stopped arguing about it...

If GM would have gone down, taking suppliers with it, Chrysler would have gone, Ford would have gone, and all automakers would leave the US because we would have no money for anything. Who would EVER start up a car company in a market where three massive automakers just toppled like dominoes? It was bad enough as-is

I have to disagree. Lutz mentioned this in his book. They already owned the jets, and they had to get there in a timely matter. Why take an unreliable airline flight which may drop you off late, or cancel their flight? Then people would be saying that they should have taken their paid-for jets to DC.
