I run old junk, so when I see a CEL come on, I am usually more surprised it still works than concerned about imminent detonation. My thinking is that if the light is on it can’t be that bad, but I bet in newer vehicles it could actually tell you something useful.

That would be lovely

Who’s cutting onions around here?

Lets move our stinkiest waste to somewhere warmer, that should go well!

Used to, don’t any more, beer is a good reward, but if you can’t drive the thing, you probably shouldn’t be wrenching on it.

I can totally see this happening. I once slept through a drunk driver crashing into 3 vehicles in my front yard. The RCMP attending the scene even came into our (unlocked) house to see if anyone was home, but stopped short of going into the bedroom. I woke up the next day, looked out the front window and my wife’s

2 weeks after buying my first truck a few of my friends and I elected to put our 4x4's through their paces during the lunch hour at school. One guy had an Isuzu Trooper, and I had a BJ42 Land Cruiser, pretty normal teenage silliness. However, we attended a private school that was located in a pretty fancy part of a

Not sure if this is helpful, but I drove around for 2 weeks without brakes because I was waiting for a part, then another 2 weeks after that because I had gotten used to it, and wanted to see how long I could go. So you probably don’t need your brakes thaaaat badly...

Not all Herons wear capes!

I got hit by a car when I was 14, and took a $20k settlement at 19. I invested the whole sum, and left it alone after that. With additional contributions over the years my little pile of cash has gotten quite large. I’m sure glad I didn’t listen to all those people telling me to go buy a sweet truck or spend the money

Too bad he doesn’t work on GM products, then it could be General (Motors) Hospital. Also, check out the name of my Land Cruiser fixing blog!

Not the first golden shower to take place in Russia!

A strong argument for a headache rack suited to the load you are carrying. This kind of thing should not happen ever.

I’m going to get philosophical here and suggest that there isn’t one specific part that is most important to learn how to fix. The most important part to fix on your vehicle is yourself and your attitude. If you were never taught to mend your own vehicle, it can be an intimidating prospect, and breaking that mindset

True, and within this vast diversity of human experience there is room for all viewpoints, and for me, in my world there is only one way to Cruiser.

I’d love to go back to 1967, but I can’t get my goddamn 40 series up to 88mph!

Now playing

40 series purist here: I deeply believe that Land Cruisers are best thought of as fast tractors, not slow trucks, and I was going to climb on here and spew a hot take about how its too fancy to be called a Land Cruiser, but then I got to thinking about what modern tractors are actually like. Turns out the whole world

Nah, like a house party but in a barn! The artificial stigmata was an accident. Usual barn party activities include watching the animals, sitting on hay bales, standing around leaning on fences, betting which horse is gonna shit next, that sort of thing! Its a good time if you are in the right company.

I once had to shift like that for a couple of weeks after putting a spiral nail almost all the way through my hand at a barn party. Shifting side palm had a big ol hole in it and required dainty shifting to not hurt like crazy/bugger up the bandage.
