This is the only article I have wanted since they released. Thank you for your service.

Setting aside gaming news, my biggest gaming disappointment of the year was Kingdom Hearts 3. As someone who was invested enough in the story to actually understand a unified explanation for everything so far, it was a horribly disappointing ending to 20 years of investment in the franchise, choosing glorified fan

Oh yeah, there would’ve been soooooo much tie to the narrative development as a whole. The whole first game revolved around the concept, and it was perfectly reasonable that at some point Shepard would’ve transitioned to fighting against the internal battle in his mind, and all of the little narrative inconsistencies

I am plainly arguing that it did not “successfully” end the Dark Seeker saga in a way that rewarded fans because of his insistence on further setting up sequels. But technically, you are correct. The best kind of correct!

Wait THEY DID IT AGAIN?!?!?

Now playing

I’m still sticking with the indoctrination ending as the real end:

And? You can tell a sufficiently satisfying story AND still make more games without dangling ten new plot threads for the sequel, notably shortchanging the characters and plot we’d invested in to this point. They spent so much time setting up new stories that they forgot to give us satisfying ends to the old ones. And

They absolutely did not. Don’t get me wrong, I love the games, but they ripped open as many plot threads as they closed. They kept us going for almost 20 years saying this would be a definitive finale and it basically ends “to be continued.” Not to mention rendered essentially all of the prior plotlines fully consequen

That is even worse than I expected. Hope it bombs and they finally learn a lesson about their strung-out storytelling.

The most disappointing part, of course, being that they didn’t end the series.

I think you just made the case as to why it’s the best sports game at the moment.

This sounds like everything that should’ve been in the game in the first place.

The times I was going to sleep between 1 and 2 and waking up 9-10 were the best for sleep I ever had. Have been on the 8-5 grind now for almost 15 years.

I actually had to double-check to make sure that was the same guy at the start of the video.

I actually had an audio cassette player with AV inputs that I could use to record the songs haha. I made a couple of cassettes of SNES music, MMX was definitely very present.

Journey is amazing. Going back through the Wind Waker soundtrack left me disappointed, there are a couple of all-timers on it but it wasn't a great listen to me as a whole.

Sonic music is great, but Escape from the City is still the best individual Sonic track of all time haha.

It's stunning how successful MMX was on every level, but that soundtrack is spectacular as well. They never quite duplicated the quality there.

CC is always my go-to answer on this question. It’s just so good top to bottom

Chrono Cross has always been it for me. Downloaded it months before the game released in the States and couldn’t stop listening to it.
