It’s 100% possible in current EV’s. Your nonsense rules about charge is the problem. Why put a weird 50% limit on battery charge?

one thing to keep in mind with fuel consumption on interceptors is that Idle burn rate on some of those vehicles is roughly 1 gallon/hr. so that’s fuel being burned, not being used to move the vehicle forward. with an EV, there is a direct correlation between movement and energy used.... this is a large component…

Honestly, police cars - and frankly municipal vehicles of all sorts, seem ideally suited for conversion to EVs. They should all have easy access to charging infrastructure every night (and throughout the day) and they almost certainly aren’t going to be putting in hundreds of miles of distance every day.

So I’m sure it all works swimmingly now then (despite the NHTSA’s findings).
