You don’t know that. None of us knows if the driver is at fault or the manufacturer because they have to do an investigation. It could be that the driver was reckless or that there was a malfunction or error in design.

Maybe this is why Carmax stock is on the rise. Steel/aluminum tariffs plus the prospects of auto tariffs might mean higher new car prices and secondarily higher used car prices. Both used cars margins and volumes should increase relative to a tariff-free policy.
Wait, do you think autos manufactured in the US makes it an American car? You know the profits funnel back to the mother country. Sure the US workforce gets paid their wages in USD, but the reported revenue numbers is JPY. It’s a complex global market, but you just hope your domestic workforce isn’t strengthening…
Tis but a scratch...impressive to avoid a major impact and to spare a “love-tap.” Frame work, radiator, & suspensions were spared.
It’s not always about money; sometimes it’s about incompetence.
I don’t know about that. I think we often errantly try to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes thinking that they did something wrong that we wouldn’t do ourselves. However if you really thought about it, if you were them you would do the exact same thing that they did. We can never truly know what it’s like to be…
Maybe, but Honda does not have a good reputation at all in the electrification shift. Everything they’ve done has been a huge disappointment. They were on top with the 1st gen Insight, but society was not interested at the time and did not encourage Honda to dig in deeper. The 1st gen Civic Hybrid was a disaster…
I think Bose has the first to design the compacted “nautilus” speaker, so you were always paying up for design. Towards the latter end of the 1990s, everyone else was making them too. Bose had a bunch of other cool ideas, but they seemed to get hung up on overpriced home consumer goods.
In my opinion the driver, Tesla, NHTSA, & DMV are at fault. The driver did not exercise sound judgment in operating the vehicle. Tesla has a products liability issue in that they coined the features as “Autopilot,” leading the lay person to believe the car can reasonably operate itself, there are memos showing the…
Really loud bass notes make my lungs and torso feel tight and high frequencies can give me an ear/headache. My brother worked for Bose for several years out of business school and he said a larger than you would expect part of their business was military contracts. I don’t think they developed any weapons, but they…
That’s good for Honda; they are way behind in the electrification race. This partnership will probably save them several years and a ton of money in R&D. On the other hand, by being late perhaps they saved a lot of money by skipping the early stages. I figured they wasted enough money on the Clarity and…
Boy, if there was ever a candidate to permanently be banned from motoring it might be this guy. A danger to himself and others, right?
We’ve had our off-lease Fiat 500e for about 1.3 years and have driven 26K miles on it during that time. It’s fun to drive around and makes a lot of sense in southern California traffic congestion, but it doesn’t replace the thrill of an ICE car during spirited driving. The EV feels much more like a toy than a…
I’d pay $45K for a Model 3 with just the basics...you know without all the electronic door handles, trunk release, and tablet interface. I just don’t want an overly complicated car with drop-down menus and a GUI. I’d rather have knobs, buttons, and dials for things like HVAC, mirror adjustments, audio, etc.
The likely problem was when the tanker was refilling the station tanks. I wonder if we’re at a point when nozzles should be different shapes to avoid this mistake. Perhaps round for gasoline, square for diesel, larger triangle for ethanol, star-shape for something else...the latter was inspired by Lucky Charms…
Serving food is the easy part. The part of service the deserve the tip the most is busing the table, clearing plates, and getting all the extra things to make the experience more enjoyable (condiments, refills, after-meal hot beverage). Sure you serve yourself at a buffet, but boy do people leave huge messes.
My friends in Oakland sold their cars and rent out their parking spot for $200 a month. They take public transportation and ride-sharing services for their commute and to run errands. They are regular car renters through Enterprise for weekend getaways.
For Honda’s sake, I hope you’re right.
I thought Clooney was a decent Bruce Wayne, but a horrible Batman. I prefer Bale and Keaton’s version of a more mysterious and less talkative Batman. As for the best actor in this train wreck, I’d throw my vote to Elle MacPherson.
Tangent here, but when did plastic gloves become a thing for food service? Are people that afraid of germs or disease? I worked in a commercial kitchen during high school and we only wore a glove if you had a wound. Anecdotally, I wore one to cover a golfing blister for a few days.
