I think the Leaf is the mass-produced EV with the fastest battery degradation due it being the only passively-cooled battery system. However, this doesn’t mean that 8-years is the life of the battery, but that these batteries were harvested from decommissioned Leafs from accidents, recalls, lease returns, etc. I

Not really, but I think this was in Washington state. Maybe tires with better wet performance, a car with less lower and throttle response, traction/stability control, and perhaps a driver who showed a little more care (I believe it was a rental) could have prevented this accident.

I loved the movie for it’s dark and creative weirdness; I thought it was the right blend of clever comic book fantasy mixed with wit and just the right amount of camp. Anyone else enjoy the SNES Batman Returns side-scrolling game?

Reminds me of a quip on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air:

I’m proud that my wife and I were able to plop a 25% downpayment on the cheapest distressed sale in Newport Beach (in 2012) without any help from family. It’s our first house and our mortgage payment is well below today’s market rent on our old 1bd/1ba apartment. It took us 6 years and 5 serious offers before we

I cheated on my 5-speed by replacing the 5th gear set with a 12% taller set. I keep it in 4th a little longer so that my turbo stays engaged after the up-shift into 5th. I’m about 5% more fuel efficient, cruise at a higher speed, and it’s so much quieter at 80mph.

I take a serrated utility knife to cut shallow diamonds into the bottoms on worn out flip-flop sandals, but I would never do this with a set of tires. If my street tires are optimized off the rack, they aren’t the tires for me. I cut my worn flip-flops so I don’t slip on wet surfaces...I would never allow my tires

I have no problem buying used. In 2004 and 2011, I went out of state (some 320 miles away) to get a good deal on a used 2001 VW Golf TDI and 2007 Lexus Rx400h. In both cases, the cars were bought for 60% off the original MSRP with 80K miles on the odometer. My latest purchase was an off-lease 2013 Fiat 500e that I

I’m not sure these tips would have helped with any of my stuck on jars. I think I’ve only come across 4 in my lifetime that seemed impossible without tools. One was so tough, I used a pair of Vise-Grips and plier to deform the lid. Generally a rubber glove works when my hand is either wet or has an oily residue

My favorite is the Manchurian Cauliflower at Devi in NYC. I don’t miss the chicken or pork at all.

I might be the only person in my social circle to have missed that film. I’ll have to check it out now.

Not this guy. I like to stretch my dollar and also know that I’m not capable or competent to take a supercar to its limit. Therefore, I’d be perfectly content with the V8 R8 (strongly considering one), the 2005 Ford GT (was only $140K back then), and believe history is repeating itself with the current price

I’ll add some more reasons why one ought not cut off a bus:

Very off-topic, but I clicked on the video and ended up watching a Corpus Christi PD stealth car team up to pull over a Charger and a pickup truck, who didn’t appear to be racing, but definitely weren’t driving properly. The flashing lights made the cars hit the brakes and pull over to the interchange buffer area and

I’d love to get behind the wheel of this M5 and go around a road course, but it just doesn’t interest me for public road driving. My friend’s old 540i was a beast that just wanted to push to the limit and you just can’t responsibly do that on a public road.

I’ve got 18 cylinders....spread across 4 vehicles and one is an EV, but this isn’t a contest.

It’s been a long production run and I’m sure each sequential production year has seen declining sales (see Nissan 300z/350z/370z). Honda struggled to make money on the S2000 in the later years, which begs the question of how Mazda has succeeded with the Miata for all these years.

I’m considering buying a used 8-cyl model; I think the market has bottomed out on them. They seem reasonable in terms of upkeep cost and I’ve always wanted a gated shifter.

I’ve never been flexible but dammit I’m going to add these into my regimen no matter how ridiculous I look.

Yep. They also pay a lot in taxes too...unless they hire someone instructed either to evade or minimize their tax burden.
