Fascinating.
Fascinating.
These comments are hilarious. It’s like being at a campfire hearing everyone telling past war stories.
I think that was the only one that stuck out to me as being fun, likely because Spidey was directly involved even though we were in control of MJ.
They are probably going to just shave a little of the product weight off, round off the body corners, and add a couple of new colors. White. Metallic Blue. Cap it off with some “XL”, “ZX”, “Z28" marketing label nonsense, and watch the money roll in again.
Required comment incoming... We need new Space Channel 5, Jet Set (Grind) Radio, and Phantasy Star games.
Wake me when the universal internet standard averages 1GBps. Companies will then be allowed to mention game streaming without getting laughed off the stage.
I really dug how they integrated text messaging and the social media elements into the game. Some of the posts in Spidey’s twitterfeed were spot-on hilarious. Even the selfie photo mode was just too damn fun not to abuse and fool around with.
Bet on it. RIP Deadpool. You had a good R-rated two-movie run, but Iger and Horn will now be pouring Clorox all over you from here on out, so that it is more “in line with their company values”. Can't be offending their bubbled, delusional Disney fans now, right?
FFXI was cross-play on PC, PS2, and X360. That Square-Enix was able to convince MS to release FFXI must really have been an amazing corporate feat at the time.
Only certain titles. Currently, FFXIV has been cross-playing it on PC and PS4 for a few years now.
“arguetainment”. Dude, that is a great label that I’ve been trying to place my finger on. I’m adding that to my vocab. Seriously, thanks!
Sorry I wasn’t more specific that the “it” I was referring to was exactly what you just re-iterated, not the practice itself. That thinking they could milk their big point and click gimmick had mass appeal.
Yeah man, I have had this perma-bookmarked on YouTube ever since it came out. Too damn awesome.
lol exactly. Why is this show getting exposure like this? “We know most of you hate the show, but anyway here are a few more articles. Today’s one asks you to ignore the entire season, and just check out a couple of scenes near the end of it”.
At launch, I was considering picking up the game, but didn’t after learning it was just another one of their branching games. And the graphics weren’t that great.
I really thought the first one was well done, but parts 2 and 3 were really, really, really stretching things. I still think it would have been better to either make it into a 3hr movie one-shot, or a tighter two-parter.
Companies tend to get big and then implode on itself because they have to show revenue “growth” on an annual basis to keep the shareholders happy. It’s never enough to maintain status quo (i.e. stagnancy is the devil). So they use the newly earned profit $$$ to quickly expand on both hiring and product, but then…
That’s my take exactly, too. I haven’t really figured out why I feel this way, but it was the same with the last two TR games. Like, I know they will be good once I get around to playing them, but the sense of urgency hasn’t really been a factor. The psychological science behind it eludes me. And it’s the same case…
I share the same sentiments you mention regarding the attempts at the story trying to be dramatic, where for me in the past two TR games I would just sit there thinking, “Yeah yeah whatever, we all know this will eventually lead into either a puzzle or fight.”
Haha yeah. I think when ticket sales decline, they tack on a farewell tag to the next tour to give it a boost. Sometimes I wonder if they secretly filed a trademark patent on the term "farewell", and need to use it every few years so that it doesn't expire. lol
