I’ve just always settled on the fact that every FF game will have its own supporters and detractors. It’s not unexpected, since each one tries to re-invent what came before it. It’s a blessing and a curse unique to the FF series.

Strangely, back then I remember liking the Selphie and Irvine dynamic a lot. Their chemistry seemed more natural than everyone else. I used to like pairing them up all the time in fights.

FFVIII also taught me another important life lesson. That constantly draining points out from other people, while being discouraged from casting my own spells so that I wouldn’t need to refill them, was boring af and a load of needless bullshit.
