Well, how about that guy who played Tim Whatley in that “anti-dentite” episode?  I bet his career went nowhere.

I’m similarly cynical about this. I understand how people find his antics charming, but there’s some smug narcissism that I’m reading from Hanks’s flexes and how he carries himself, i.e., I’m the Tom Hanks and I’m gonna give you a treat because I’m the mayor of Hollywood. I also hate joy and yellow lab puppies.

A bee bit my bottom, now my bottom’s big.

I do appreciate her take on Met Gala attendees and their celebration of Lagerfeld.

Crooks: “Damn it! It’s Hamnet!”

Ah, you’re right.  I clearly didn’t read the entirety of the article.  Damn fool.

Is this the new trend? Rachel Leigh Cook’s A Tourist’s Guide To Love instantly comes to mind because (superficially) it also involves a pretty white woman hanging out overseas and falling in love with a not-white hunky hunk. Is this a new escapist fantasy? Should I actually be thrilled that this escapist trend now

I get that, too, but I don’t know if we treat celebs raised in the Church of Scientology too differently from celebs who joined in adulthood. I also still think it’s disproportionate in that Denzel gets ZERO flack for being in that church and Pratt is nearing persona non grata status among AVClub commenters. I think

Thanks for pointing that out. I don’t think one sign needs to include ALL those issues, but I think it’s more impressive and helpful to have, say, an editorial-cartoon-style sign that actually addresses some of the issues. No easy task, but I’m sure those substantive signs were present and wish they’d been featured,

It feels disproportionate.  Denzel Washington is a member of The Church of God and Christ, which sees homosexuality and abortion as sins (and actively promotes those stances), but that’s not as well-known or doesn’t seem to impact people’s views of Denzel.

All very amusing, but I would have been impressed with a sign that concisely and convincingly makes an argument for better pay and what the residuals payout has disadvantaged them. That’s a lot to ask of a sign, but as cute as these are, I think to a passerby these will just appear like stock images of any worker

Read it here, folks! “Pratt Likes Buying Mansions”!  Hot off the presses!

“These are still just two young people, right? Who are trying to grow up and fall in love...”

Hi, Team. Passing along a link to last year’s discussion on the same topic. Key points and takeaways are covered in the doc. Hopefully we can keep this meeting short and efficient and give time back if possible. Thanks. Email if you have any questions!

Aerosmith’s hardcore fans will dismiss the accusations, but the band’s been a joke to a lot of people for a while now, so maybe there’ll people who won’t give Tyler a pass. Let’s be real: they’re quite easy to quit. On the other hand, David Bowie, while I know he can’t answer for himself anymore, is held in such high

I really liked Sumpter as JD McCoy, so I don’t think he’s a bad actor, but I thought he was one of the weak spots of that 2003 movie. He didn’t really embody Pan’s fundamental mischievousness, so I’ve never watched him (my kids used to watch this movie a lot) and not thought this is an actor playing Peter Pan.

This is a deterrent to many other acts’ fans/listeners, but Pearl Jam fans are a different animal. A good number of them will watch the band no matter what, and transferring a ticket to someone else is nearly unthinkable. While I really loved the band especially during the Vitalogy era, I really can’t say I’ve kept up

They do it for some, which is why Tom Hanks isn’t in the MCU.

I hope Kristen Stewart makes an appearance at some point, maybe as a withered old crone since she’s 33 years old now.

Lip syncing?!? Burn the (Good) Witch (of the North)!
