Why does Hyper-V never get any love around here. I absolutely love it, and find it very hard to use any other virtualization software.

I have been using Node.js like nobody's business lately, for everything from static pages to multiplayer games, and hosting them on various chunks around the interwebs.

Since you got so many disagreeing comments, I have to say that I fully agree with you. There is no fee to giving money, and the person gets to really do whatever they want. Giving a gift card is like giving a mandate. ("You must go to Best Buy and look at stuff all day.") The best gift is one that doesn't make you do

You might be able to do that with Google Docs (try the browser version too). I know it can be done on multiple PCs, so why not a phone and tablet.

This might be cheating, but I use tablets with Remote Desktop, so I still essentially get Windows on really powerful hardware through a tablet. I do the same with my Chromebook. Really, it seems that they are really good ways to use your desktop without having to carry it around.

I have terrible internet at my house, and a long distance girlfriend, so sometimes I use my phone for video chat when the house internet is unbearable. (unlimited 4G!).

I don't understand your reply. Perhaps I was not clear: I take the small bag out and keep it with me during the flight, then put it back in the larger bag and effectively only have one bag once I get off the plane instead of two. Also, I don't think your response answers the original post of how to have only one bag

Every time I have flown in the past year or so, they have asked me to check my carry-on bag since the overhead gets filled so quickly, and I have learned to love this feature. I now always plan on checking my carry-on bag. Anyway, get a slightly larger suitcase/bag and a small messenger for your laptop and gadgets

Same idea, but probably a different algorithm. Also, YouTube Disco only plays one artist for me; I think this one plays similar music.

No problem. I'm glad you like it.

There are plenty of setups where things are indeed quicker to get than with a keyboard. For example, I have SwipePad that handles almost anything for me. I have it as an app launcher (those would be one swipe away), another pad for frequent contacts (15 contacts at one swipe away), and I have it set up to show me

Minus seems to be at 10GB now, not the 50GB it used to give.

There is one more question to consider, and that is "Is the item under warranty and how likely is it to fail on you?" A lot of manufacturers expect items shipped back in their original packaging for a warranty replacement (even moreso with parts like hard drives). Once the item is out of warranty, chances are you can

I had the Aeron chair at work, and it was one of the worst sitting experiences I have ever had. The chair is okay for an hour or two, but I prefer something with actual cushions if I am going to have to sit all day. The Aeron actually felt very itchy after sitting in it for a little while. Also, after about a month,

One of the best methods I have found is to use a desktop wallpaper that I actually want to see. I went from something really generic to a photo of my girlfriend, and just like that, I have all the willpower I need to keep my desktop clean and icon-free.

Daytrotter is great for that, especially because I like stripped-down music. Also, I listen to a lot of music on Bandcamp, since most artists let you stream it for free, and I end up buying a lot of it.

I almost exclusively use [airbnb.com] — it's mostly people renting out rooms in their house and sometimes full apartments. In most major cities, I can usually rent an entire apartment cheaper than I can rent a hotel room (like an amazing, clean apartment in the middle of Seattle for only $60 per night). Plus, in

This will sound stupid, but you can also ask to get the fee taken off. You'd be surprised at how many times that works if you ask them nicely.
