Yes, they are much quieter. And I didn't type it on my DAS keyboard, but on my laptop... and I don't proofread.

If you were to switch keyboards (as most everyone else suggested), go with the DAS silent keyboards. Take it from a programmer, you will nto get a better typing experience, and the price is well worth it if your job is tied to a keyboard. And when they say silent, they mean it — it won't get much loudr over time.

With the risk of bursting your bubble, manually deleting mail out of All Mail does not delete it either. Google keeps everything, forever. Since it will sit on their servers no matter what, they figured they might as well give you access to it, even if you delete it from your Inbox.

You forgot "miscellaneous $2 remote". For me, you can't beat that deal

I guess the real question here is why? It's a great idea, had it not been for the fact that Chrome to Phone exists, and is much faster. What's your reasoning for QR codes instead? Personal preference?

I've never lost my phone, but I used to work at a 24 hour help desk (people treat it as a glorified lost and found). Even though locking your phone is great for privacy, it is also a great way to ensure that you never get that phone back. Usually, we go into contacts and call the one that says "mom" or some variation

She has the big giant Otterbox that makes the phone twice as big... sorry, I don't know the name.

I don't really believe in cases, or any precautionary measures for technology for that matter. I dropped my Droid hundreds of times, and nothing ever happened to it, and I've dropped my new Galaxy Nexus a few times with no case, and it doesn't even have a scratch. (My friend though, who has a Otterbox on her phone,

Won't work... I have something on the order of 40GB of files on my Desktop. In fact, I can't really use any of these file syncing services conventionally because they just don't have the kind of space I need. I've resorted to running my own server which holds the good part of my data, and it handles transfers and

Hearing cars around you has nothing to do with driving. Deaf people do not need a special driver's license, and in fact, hearing is not at all tested when getting a driver's license (only vision is). Further, all car manufacturers are working harder and harder to make cabins silent.

Grad school is not about being "worth it". It is now what college used to be. It will never be worth it if you are struggling through to get more money. Grad school is about being passionate about learning, as well as creating knowledge, and being just a little masochistic.

They are nice, I have played around with an M11x. But still, it is no small laptop. It is a brick (and rightly so). However, I do not play games and I usually carry my laptop with me all day. It's really not an option.

Well, I wasn't trying to argue — just contributing my opinion — but I guess that'd too advanced for the Internet.

That question mark does belong there. To get a decent configuration on that computer, it would cost $1720 (I just went through it), and the computer looks like it is straight out of the 90's. The keyboard is pretty bad, the trackpad is small and annoying to use, and I have no idea why it has the track0nib (or whatever

That's fair enough. An i7 and 8GB is pretty much the minimum you need to virtualize well, although you still will not get optimal performance. Also, after using an i7 for a while (as in, I got used to it), it makes me not want to virtualize anything because of the performance drop. We are getting closer to being able

I've considered doing this before, but I can't justify spending more on hardware when I already have a fully functional computer. I hate that you cannot get a high-end small Windows PC (I refuse to buy one bigger than 13 inches). Maybe the new ultrabooks will get it right, but if not, my next computer will be a

Virtualiztion greatly reduces performance. Most Macs do not have enough power to virtualize well. Also, yes, Windows 8 will be able to dual-boot and be virtualized.

I actually wrote my own tool like this and have been using it for a while. As a web developer, most of presentations are on web apps, so using PowerPoint or similar tools is out of the question. I like embedding parts of the web apps into the presentation for mini demos, so I absolutely need online presentation tools.

It's an umrhubhe. It took me about 4 seconds to remember the name... I lived in South Africa for a little while (so I guess that doesn't really count).
