One legal problem is that Mother 3’s fan translation might be too accurate...in that some of the material used may infringe on laws in the US (such as copyright, maturity ratings, even hate speak restrictions, etc) while not doing so in Japan. Nintendo’s localization teams have lawyers to consult to sidestep these…
