As others have said, Fios isn't an option everywhere. I don't consider satellite a good alternative, as no matter how good the bandwidth is, it has horrible latency. In my area, I do have the option of AT&T (is this really better?), which I tried, but they were unable to provide 1.5Mbps. Comcast can give me up to

I discovered this pen on vacation in Denmark. After returning to the USA, I discovered that Bic doesn't sell them here—so I ordered a box from the UK. It has just the right features and nothing more.

SIARPC was a bit of a let down but I think it was OK. I enjoyed the interview and the lap at least had occasional comedic value.

I want to go to there.

I've never been—I'm just voting for microcars.

Or maybe the Automuseum Engstingen that Jonee mentioned, to which I've never been...but now have to, some day.

Wow! So many Microcars! I guess I should visit Oppo more, for articles like that. A similarly large collection of microcars and similarly sadly no longer around was Bruce Weiner's Microcar Museum. As far as I know, Lane's is now the biggest collection of microcars.

It sure was. I had wanted to go for a long time but might not have except for knowing that if I didn't then I couldn't ever. I took a vacation and a flight across the country just for that.

Unfortunately not all in one place anymore; most of them were auctioned off. Hopefully they'll be out and about to be seen, though.

That was a great museum. The one time I visited was for the auction—I got the lot of mostly Vespa posters, calendars and clocks.

The only downside to the cars driving is that sometimes Lane is out driving one, so you can't see it in the museum. Probably not a big deal for locals who can visit whenever, but I'm rarely anywhere near Nashville so I've only visited once.

It seems to deny the very existence of Greece. I would expect better from such an expensive globe.

And sometimes wrenches come in "SAE" (the same as "standard")—although the Society of Automotive Engineers (now SAE International) now uses metric.

Some really terrible logos here. I don't think I can match them, but...here are some logos that I think are bad by comparison to other logos.

You should start them while the car is still on the ground, for the reason you say, but you should leave them on (such that they are very easy to turn) until the tire is off the ground, to avoid the wheel moving too much or even falling off while you're operating the jack. Only minimal force should be applied while

Audiophile Christmas tree?

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down?

If a motorcyclist lane splitting is causing problems for merging traffic, they're probably doing it wrong, in which case they could probably be ticketed (e.g. in California, lane splitting is legal, but it is up to law enforcement officer discretion to issue a ticket if it is being done in a way that is not safe and

Lane splitting is legal on any road in California with at least two lanes in the same direction to split, and not just when traffic is stopped. The Highway Patrol recommends splitting between the #1 and #2 (leftmost) lanes, no more than 10mph faster than traffic up to 30mph; an officer may ticket any motorcyclist lane
