I'm now imagining James Earl Jones getting busy with some sexy lionesses.

The fact that a rape scene was directed as kinky fun, and then that everyone simply accepts this perverted choice, is exactly what's so disturbing. Pop culture pretty much uniformly accepts that a man cannot be forced into sex.
I swear I thought it was dubbed at first.
Actually it looks like it's from Sepinwall: http://www.hitfix.com/whats… I also read the Vulture piece and my initial search brought me to the EW interview - they've really been doing the rounds for this one haha :)
Thank you so much for that writer record trivia haha, I always find that stuff fascinating. "A", "F", and "no grade", that's pretty much as extreme as it gets :)
Isn't that more "semantically"?
I, for one, have never seen the show, but I came here for the F. I did read the full review (and am curious about the show). "Comments are dwindling", says the reviewer - well, laying down the F is a good way to change that for a day.
Shhhh, all that dialogue and emotional stuff, who pays attention to that? The pridelands get all gross because Scar's a bad dude, so Simba takes him out in a big ole fight, that's all you need to know.
I viscerally disagree with her stance on many things, but I actually had to agree that Ruby would be the best guardian - because she is THERE. She is invested and involved in their lives unlike no other adult but the parents. (Speaking of which, I thought she DID live there!) Sure, Zoey might need to step in to…
This one felt really, really half-baked to me. Out-of-order airing didn't help. But the flow was really scattershot, very throw-stuff-at-the-wall-and-see-what-sticks. As you said, rough transitions. Extremely jarring to have Ruby having Skype sex in one scene then bashing "talking to a computer" in the next. Strange…
This was one of Zoey's best episodes. I mean, the ending kinda comes out of nowhere but it was sweet and pretty plausible that, despite any of her flaws, she does have her shit together and has pretty much been assuming that she was the "parent" out of all the kids this whole time.
Everything after that deals with Scar taking over. I'm sure Jack assumed Mufasa just retired.
I don't know this movie (ALTHOUGH I GOTTA CHECK IT OUT NOW LOL j/k) but it seemed pretty clear the joke was on Junior taking the most adolescent nerd view of the movie haha. And a good, if gross, joke it was.
I felt guilty I honestly could not remember nearly anything about Dre's sister (I assume because she's so damn sane). Thank you for filling me in haha.
That was a perfect joke. But I'm a little sad we didn't get to see that gutter ball Philip was throwing down the lane at the same time :P
Where is this "hard men" quote?
I didn't know about any Russell behind the scenes business OR "big death" promos, but when she was super sick I was thinking "how nuts would it be for them to just knock off one of the two leads out of nowhere like this".
I laughed my ass off at that. Wow, Stan. You know how to shut down a question.
This was the first time I really appreciated Langella on this show. Martindale always imbues her scenes with energy and character, even when it's just meat and potatoes logistical stuff, but Langella had yet to give us much beyond "serious and measured, with an occasional dash of unconvincing sympathy". Nice to see…
Your avatar reminds me of Meredith from the Office and it is hilarious reading that in her voice, thank you :)
