My brother and I were in tears watching the BSG table read, I don't know what you're talking about. It's definitely NOT just the recognition factor, it's the way they recapture/mock the style of the show, Olmos' great incredulous straight man bit, "Ronald D. Moore"'s style…in short, the acting, writing, and editing

Saw that one like 10 hours ago on this page, sorry :P

Honestly I don't know cars so I don't really care haha…as long as it's tricked out with the wailing siren and looks way too bulky for its own good, I'm gonna be happy.

I dunno, the mugging with a wig and hat seemed pretty broad and obvious, not dry, but I'm hopeful…

I'm still not forgiving Feig for Bridesmaids being promoted as some ensemble comedy and then not giving Ellie Kemper anything to do.

I assume that's not its final form, just the initial reaction. ECTO-1 was an old-school ambulance (you know, same form factor as a hearse because ambulances evolved and hearses didn't) until Ray went to town on it and made it AWESOME.

Honestly that didn't sound like anybody.

Tall and skinny, yes, but "genius who invents all the tech" sounds more like Egon.

I literally waited until the week after AV Club stopped coverage before I got in on the show.

I love how you've described Oswald, Allison! Really looking forward to seeing more of him in the coming weeks.

Did I hear decent things about The Mist? Still haven't seen it yet…

@disqus_8pASCy43Wp:disqus Someone above asked why the stakes matter if Jake can just reset and try again. Having the long, drawn-out timeline AND book lets us feel the reason why. We don't want to READ those years again any more than he wants to LIVE those years again :)

I like Franco (in general) and I think he's doing fine here, but I agree there were a couple lines were a little stoner-y haha. Not enough to really take me out of it though.

Given that the only logical way to defend yourself from Lore IS to watch him literally every millisecond, and Data spent the middle third of the episode telling Soong nonstop that Lore was about 2 nanoseconds from pulling some more evil shit, I have to utterly disagree with you. There was EVERY indication he was going

Maybe that's exactly what the chip had, but that whole "delayed seeds" thing got fucked up when Lore snatched it.

According to Memory Alpha: Michael Piller had to lobby hard to Gene Roddenberry and Rick Berman to do this episode. Partly because it was serialized, partly because it didn't have any science fiction trappings at all. Even after getting the okay, Berman initially insisted on a sci-fi storyline, but relented when none

Woah, this was a thing 5 years ago too? At least now we're waiting 5+ years for the NEXT book…

Hm, okay, fair enough. I mean, not iron will enough to prevent himself from wiping out 40 starships and clocking that poor security guy in the head in Data's laboratory, but a fair point nonetheless :)

I love how iconic that shot is. Sure, "main character of the show working for the bad guys and lost all trace of self" is a big deal too, but slapping that red laser pointer on his head and pointing it at the camera is a good 50% of the effect.

I liked the song during the flashback. Braids - Lammicken.
