I think Sullivan’s wrong in his diagnosis of why, but when talking about the election results, you focus on the groups that changed their behavior election over election.

Yep, but it’s still a redirection of how that money is spent, radically, the outcome of which is based on ... you guessed it ... modeled assumptions.

As far as I’m concerned, this is all Britain’s fault.  The Brexit referendum going the way of right wing nativist was the first major victory for white nativists in the Western world, and with zero proof or statistical indicia, I’m 100% certain that this is what caused Trump to get elected.  Fucking limy bastards.

Yes, any proposal is based on modeled assumptions.  Few proposals represent a 13 figure bet on the accuracy of those modeled assumptions.

Difficult having a double meaning there in the sense that it would be awfully difficult for most human beings in Jorge’s shoes to work up the gumption to ask those questions of Maduro.

I said all this to Maduro’s face when I interviewed him on Feb. 25 in Caracas. I also showed him a video of three young men looking for food in a garbage truck, which profoundly contradicted his rhetoric of a prosperous and progressive country. He couldn’t stand to watch it and called the interview off — a reaction I

As another poster pointed out, Bennett’s worked at the NYT for a very long time. He was probably, for many reasons, the true logical pick for the job at the time he was given it.

That proposal being based on modeled assumptions.

I think at the level of Bennett running a serious and viable national campaign, that’s probably true.

He was a victim who was vilified and made to appear as a perpetrator as a result of false and inappropriate remarks made to the public causing an inappropriate rush to judgement

I mean, a very nice analogy for sure, though it’s inclusion makes me wonder whether or not Hamilton might arrive at a different conclusions if he were more pleased with the performance of the “team”. Like, replace the Steelers with the Patriots, but then trade Tom Brady for Colin Kaepernick, Bill Belichek for, I

Under a bunch of modeled assumptions, yes it costs less than our current system.

I’ll buy that, if Senator Bennett ends up making a meaningful run of it, that his brother being editorial editor of the NYT should probably stop. Not sure I buy that he can’t have that job if his brother is a Senator from Colorado though. But besides all that, plenty of honest people in many fields will tell you that

Honestly we’re not in nearly the jam Britain is in with Brexit. Britain’s politics are about as evenly divided and highly partisan as ours are right now, the difference is that they are in a legal/political situation where they
have to pass something that meets with at least some bipartisan support and that will pass

And yet, if you can’t make some sort of assertions about the values of a group that fits under the same label based on what the vast majority of them believe, what’s the value of the label?

That progressive should give Islam no more quarter than they do Christianity when it comes to misogyny.

No Biji, I’m not a coward,  I just don’t have time for a disingenuous shitheel such as yourself.

You’re confused. I didn’t say to be “bipartisan”. I was very clear about that. What I’m saying is that you stymie the agenda in a more productive way than passing 54 entirely symbolic votes that either outright repeal or defund a program of the Republicans you don’t like that will never go anywhere in the Senate.

No, I insert my opinion into a holistic observation.  Do you not agree that a choice where absolutely everyone makes the same choice may not in fact be a choice?
