Saw this in a store the other day when a toddler boy pulled a purple sippy cup off a shelf only to have his father (grandfather?) snatch it away and snap at him for grabbing a girl cup. A TODDLER.

Came to say this. Harmless (to the public, at least) spectacles are fine but once you start making working folks’ lives harder for the sake of clicks you’re officially a dick.

Oh yeah, I know it well. Enjoyed it when I was a kid but my step daughter has numbed me to all its feel-good charms.

There’s also just not wanting to contribute to that whole industry. You’ll always hear, “Yeah well you’re not really making a difference.” Ok? Doesn’t mean I should want to support it either way.

It looked familiar and then I remembered seeing similar pieces on Orcas island. It’s by Anthony Howe, he used to allow tours of his property to see his work but he doesn’t do anything small scale/for sale anymore. This is one of his best pieces I think.

I’d say the difference is a matter of expectation for the viewer. You weren’t expecting to see this on tv while watching the games. You definitely clicked on an article with the words “suffers horrific leg break [Graphic]” and expected to see something horrific and graphic.
