Community workshops! My favorite is ADX in Portland. Classes are a fraction of what they are at CCs and cover/get the use of a huge amount of tools and equipment for stuff like metal and wood working, jewelry making, 3D printing, sewing, drafting, screen printing etc. It’s a nice community vibe too.

I can honestly list my parents among those I’d call my best friends. But fuck all if I wasn’t out of the house for good at 16.

Not to their faces. Whatever. When I taught for a whole 6 months (stop gap after grad school while applying to jobs in my actual field) I said worse about my students to my SO. I didn’t mean any of it. I still get letters from those kids.

Seriously. How about just keeping your phone on hand. Pockets are cheaper than a landline.

I just realized how her shitty art is so similar to a lot of other shitty art. There’s that one particular style of awful middle school no-natural-talent-and-hasn’t-taken-enough-constructive-criticism-or-classes that is so common. The long necks and noses and complete lack of ability to create depth with shadows and

I only knew who three of those people were.

Generally cookies are less sweet in a lot of other places. American cookies often get dramatic comments like “ow my teeth!”. Which honestly if your teeth literally hurt after eating one cookie you’ve had problems for a long time, honey.

It really isn’t. But I don’t like marshmallows. I use a little honey and orange juice to make a glaze.

But the grocery store isn’t adorable girls learning cool things.

Florida Man in Green Bay?

The cases are very light, you’ll feel the vibrate/buzz. It doesn’t turn your phone off, it just essentially locks the case so you can’t access it. Want to text the sitter to check on the kids? Step outside like a considerate human being.

I used to have cold pizza but now this bottomless pit that I live with eats it all. We have done the 2 pizza thing and it makes no difference. He just takes longer naps afterwards now.

Yeah I read her comments and they just emphasize that she thinks the reasoning behind the abortion made it “better”. Specifically saying the woman deserves respect based on the type of abortion she had. So woman who had an abortion for a different reason wouldn’t be as deserving for making a choice about her own body?

I sort of consider a lot of ModCloth clothing to be “costume” apparel. It looks cute in pictures but in person it’s stuff you wear for specific occasions. The quality makes it not up to snuff for every day wear nor good enough for anything where I wanna be fancy.

The point is her comment makes it seem like “abortion” is a naughty, shameful word. It’s not. The woman had an abortion. No amount of fence walking, back tracking or semantics will make her entire point that the word “abortion” shines negatively on the woman in the article.

It looks like Kim and Mickey Mouse

My chi hates water too. And the cat comment is spot on. My cat and my chihuahua are bffs and have never realllly warmed up to my new dog who is a Very Good Dog. The cat has taken on some dog qualities like growling when there’s a knock at the door and will nibble on dog chews. The two of them are basically CatDog.

This is my chihuahua. He is just me a “me and the cat” dog. I took in a mini dachshund who is the most sociable and happy dog but the other two have never fully accepted him into their little clique... I occasionally send just him to day camp so he can get some socialization and fun while I’m working. He loves it.

Grew up with them. My dad has a couple and he made sure we knew how to safely handle and fire them. Have an SP101 .357 now (it was a gift) and it’s kept inside a lockbox inside a safe because I have neighborhood kids over often. Haven’t fired it since I got it a few years ago and I’m ok with that.

I think that’s another factor. Being a POC it’s that much more powerful for me.
