Yeah, but if they are bringing that character back, doesn’t she just hang around the Riverlands killing Freys? I mean, we don’t have much time between now and the battle, and she wouldn’t help Jon with anything, would she? I doubt death would have made her less rigid in her dislike of him.

Also, House Stark proper still isn’t dead. Rickon is a prisoner. And he’s the legitimate heir.

I also read that as a way to make him see that he’s already chosen to live. So since he’s chosen to live, he needs to commit to it. He could have slit his wrists long before now, but he didn’t. Because he made his choice a long time ago. That’s what I saw in that speech — not a call for him to actually commit suicide.

I keep responding to your posts long after someone else has... sorry for the pileon! I should read through the whole thread before replying to you!

Well, he also knew how to talk about it as a war that does not involve his family or his “house”. He’s an outsider to the Boltons and the Starks, so he understands why she wouldn’t want to wade in. He should return home, but he won’t because he knows this battle is more important than meets the eye. I think that

Ep. 9 has traditionally been the crazy episode: Ned’s death, Battle of Blackwater, Red Wedding, Battle at Castle Black... but last year they mixed it up by adding that zombie massacre at the end of Hardhome, so my hope is that they’ll make the big battle last either two episodes or they’ll have two crazy eps in a row.

Well, and the Waif was ordered to make it a painless and quick death, was she not? She didn’t do that at all. I’m tired of the Waif. I want Arya back in Westeros. I’m curious if she’ll hook up with Theon before she leaves Braavos, though. After all, they’re in the same place and that rarely happens without characters

Theory over on i09 is that Arya wasn’t stabbed; Jacquen was. She named him as her third death early in the series — he still owes her his life.

I’m not sure she knows the extent of Littlefinger’s involvement in her father’s and brother’s (and mother’s) deaths. She knows he ended up with the Boltons as an ally, but that doesn’t mean she knows he was in on the plot. We know that from what Littlefinger told Ned in S1, but did he ever explicitly say he was part

Oh my Lord. This is ridiculous and great.

Take that back, please.

Hah. When I was wearing them I could have used the ability to walk on water there was so much rain, but no. They were full of holes and gaps and my feet got very wet and cold.

Apparently it was something a group of students out of Chicago did after a classmate was shot. They wanted to honor her, so they wore orange. You would not get any of this from any of the celeb Twitter pics, because the Twitter pics aren’t particularly helpful.

A thousand times this. Thank you. I work in nonprofit comms as well and the ALS thing was just... an anomaly. The good thing about is that a lot of the celebrities who were actually doing the challenge talked about what ALS is, or at least included a link to donate or said something about donating in the video. A lot

Agreed. I think it’s weird to have an entourage while on vacation in any case, but that’s just me. Last time I traveled my entourage consisted of an iPhone charger and holey boots.

They’ve always been around. See Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney (I believe she was actually dating a much older man at the time, but the story to the press is she was dating Mickey Rooney).

But look at the cast in that movie... Henry Cavill is gorgeous but he’s not exactly a leading man in terms of his ability to really carry a movie. And the other guy.... Armie Hammer? I still have no idea what he’s actually done aside from that terrible Lone Ranger movie.

It was so much better than I had expected! I picked it out on HBO because everything else looked terrible. And I was surprised by how much fun it was.

Maria Menounos for me. No idea why but I can't stand her or her dolphin laugh.

I don’t have a lot to add but thanks for this. Kit Harington says some dumb things in interviews but I’m not about to sharpen the pitchforks and knives on this one. He’s uncomfortable with being objectified. I think that’s OK for him to express. He may have used the wrong word, but why not try to make this an
