I look forward to more Jean Smart and Jemaine Clement. After season 2 kind of destroyed both their characters, there would have been no way to have them as full time cast members anymore. But them showing up for an episode should be fun.

To be fair, the show has done little to no build up of David’s multiple personalities.
I miss Elementary coverage. This is our last season for the perfection that is Jonny Lee Miller’s portrayal of Sherlock Holmes (even if the show’s writing falls so far short of that perfection.) If I can’t get anymore recaps, I at least need a mention in What’s on Tonight. Is that too much to ask?
My queer buds and I have sat through the performances of plenty enough ‘authentic’ gay actors to agree with her point. Identity is not talent. And btw, Dante Gill did not identify as trans; the label was applied to her by an academic based on criteria (wearing men’s clothes, insisting on being called Sir, etc) that…
Honestly, they had me at “Aubrey Plaza”.
How do I give this comment 1 million stars? Season 2 was meant to be difficult.
This review reads like you think the show owes you an apology for last season and is trying to make amends. It doesn’t and it isn’t.
Divison 3 didn’t turn against David for the rape. They turned against him because the rape highlighted a horrifying reality of David: That he’s incredibly, unimaginably dangerous.
1. Oliver isn’t dead, and I don’t know why you’d think he would be since all the torture David did was on the mind-scape and not actual physical torture. In fact, the show was pretty clear in the finale of season 2 that he and Melanie are in the astral plane, recovering.
Depending on your tastes, it’s gonna get even better.
I haven’t read the review yet, because I haven’t seen this episode yet, and I haven’t even seen season 2 yet (waiting for it to show up on Hulu, or wherever it was that I watched season 1), but I’m not gonna lie, they had me at “Aubrey Plaza in that outfit”.
Also not addressed, what Syd did to her stepfather was just as bad.
Right?!! They are cramming in so much plot there’s not enough time for the fun! I never used to skip weeks before. At least Rahul is still the best.
Surprise twin? Secret parentage? Unforgiving estranged brother? “I’m your daughter”? WTF is this, a third-rate soap opera now? I swear during the whole conversation with Liv’s mother, even the lighting seemed suddenly bad, to the point that I wondered if they were doing a spoof based on a brain or something.
This weeks opening (and most of the case of the week stuff) was strong. From Liv’s “Beanpole Bob. Sounds like the Little Rascal that ended up on the cutting room floor”, to Clive’s “Best guess...suffocation,” to Ravi’s “More like somebody wanted her to go. He gets it,” to “That’s a wrap” it was a really well put…
burnout and repetition, as callbacks pile up and character beats recycle, sometimes threatening to drown out original setups or jokes.
You know what holds up surprisingly well? The MiB Cartoon.
Even if this was a good movie I probably wouldn’t have bothered with it.
You know... respectfully... I think folks are missing the forest for the trees here. I read reviews on multiple outlets (sucker for punishment that I am), and I see the critics divided into two camps: One that sees criticism of fast-moving tech as grumpy, get-off-my-lawn griping by Luddite oldsters, and one that…
