That's two different things, though, and is something I have criticized a couple of the critics here occasionally. Disliking a plot line doesn't mean it's badly written, and hating on a show for when characters act in ways that you don't like, because of personal feelings towards them or some other out-of-show…

Today I learned… while watching a video from Patrick (H) Willems channel (not as up there as Every Frame a Painting, but still worth watching!) that three of my all time favourite music videos (Madonna's Vogue and Express Yourself, plus George Michael's Freedom) were directed by David Fincher, of all people!
