Props to Audi for still producing this engine. I love seeing a manufacturer still willing to build nearly bespoke engines- like the V8 from the Porsche 918, the old V10 for the Bangle era M5, and unfortunately Cadillacs Blackwing.

BMW and Mercedes do this because many of their buyers are badge whores. In this case, we are talking about their entry level models. But they know that the buyer is going to feel better about an entry level model if it has the M. So now they are cooler in their leased X1 M than the guy rolling around in a regular X5.

Cat CEL light should be tuned out if this was a professionally done conversion. (I had this done on my street/track car). So read into that what you like…

Car and Driver tested this many years ago even with cars with 400+ HP. The brakes on every single car they tested were strong enough to slow and stop a car with a stuck gas pedal. I don’t know if there is some software in this Pilot that doesn’t allow the brakes and gas to be used simultaneously, but if there is

I will pick a nit with you on Porsche- the Cayman/Boxster is a fantastic old school drivers car. That said, it’s going electric and as a GT4 owner, I feel ya.

I didn’t say that free school lunch policies wil alone have an impact on birth rates. That’s the point of the article- no one thing like child seats or free school lunch will have an impact on birth rates. That said, the environment in which we live now can be supportive of families or not. The republicans talk about

Or the 14 republican led states that turned down no strings attached free federal dollars for school lunch programs for kids. Because they are so pro family.

I didn’t know until it was pointed out in the article that Nissan doesn’t offer a single hybrid vehicle. That is insane. They have certainly trashed some names and model reputations but how the hell do they not have a single hybrid?!

I am floored by the sheer number of people on here who think a cell phone is going to work in natural disaster or some other major emergency.

We used a battery operated AM radio during Sandy when my city was pretty decimated. Ironically, something like this AM radio mandate would probably benefit poor white rural Americans more than anything, so of course the politicians they vote for will oppose it. So fuck them. As someone living in NJ, usually ranked the

I have owned a bunch of Audis but the seats in both the D2 and D3 A8L that I owned were ridiculously comfortable. That plus a ride that feels the same at triple digit speeds as it does at 50mph. They were amazing cruisers.

I have a small lithium ion jumper that charges via USB that I keep in the back of the family SUV. I have had ongoing issues with my GT4 draining so I bought a full size jumper with long cables (to be able to access the battery first you have to hook up the cables to a slide out fuse in the driver foot panel while

No flak from me. You are correct - these hole in one contests etc are usually backed by specialty insurance companies. Just glad the dealer stepped up, especially considering the field is named after them!

My daughter will be getting her learners permit this week. I have started speaking my thoughts out loud to her as I drive so she can understand all that I see when driving. We were behind an SUV with the rear wiper on the other day. It had not rained for days. So this person had not looked in their rear view mirror

RIP George Carlin on places like Texas:

Sounds great. At one track that I go to they allow spectators in pit road right up on the wall. When the supercharged Camaros turn on to the front straight and accelerate past you, the supercharger whine first, followed by the bellowing exhaust as they pass, is just amazing. I love an Italian NA v10 or V12 but this is

I appreciate the article. It is car-related so it shows up on Jalopnik.

Had to wait out a minute long Israeli propaganda advertisement that completely took over my screen without an x button to close it out. It’s now taking up only the top left quarter of my screen. This website is bad enough on mobile but this recent AIPAC trash taking over my phone is one step too far.

Someone leave me hanging- what are you getting?!

This is why the 981 Cayman/Boxster values have gone up in the last couple years. Manual transmission, 3.4L flat six, pure driving joy. When my 981 Cayman S was flooded in Ida, I got a check (for much more than what I paid for it used) that then went to a 981 GT4. These cars are brilliant, playful, and the last of a
