My dad had an E39 528 with a 6 speed manual in it. It didn’t have the sport package. It wasn’t the wonderful complicated V8 M5 of that generation. It was a 528 with 15 inch wheels, tires with big sidewalls, and a buttery stick. It didn’t encourage you to drive very fast, but everything was so damn smooth. The stick

Not everyone thinks the same way. I bought my first Porsche last year (6 years old, $50K) but my middle school kids college is paid for, retirement accounts robust, etc. Mid 40s and never bought a new car.

You can’t argue against a Turbo for either track or luxury GT that will scare the hell out of you when press the go pedal. The numbers are legit super car numbers (and usually have been over the generations). My issue is the price. I am a Porsche guy (Cayman S), but even I can look at this and say that regardless of

Drugs will do that to you.

I see them all the time- we have a football stadium, two baseball stadiums, US tennis center, and a golf course that hosts a PGA event all with 7 miles of me here in NJ. I am not sure what Vinnie from Bloomfield was thinking in that video, but apologies to the readership here for having been subjected to my fellow

I am still torn on the black roof look that many Astons now sport.

Yup- still impossible to get through any story that contains more than a couple photos that need to be loaded, along with the 27 ads. (And yes, I once counted 27 ads in one story- it took about 8 page reloads to actually get through the story to count all 27).

Highway 26 past Craters of the Moon in Idaho. I was in a rental QX80 comfortably doing 85. So yeah the feds really needs to let states handle setting speed limits.

Yes they are growing up differently than me. I learned on a U-type Mack truck. My dad had a small trucking company and as he said, you can grind those gears as much as you want and do no harm. I used to wash the trucks and load trailers as summer job, so I got to drive around the yard in them as a 14 year old. You

I second this statement.

Please tell me you forgot to add the /s

Looking forward to full test!

The Q7 has been around for about 4 years already. This S version is the first one being rolled out as part of the mid cycle refresh of the Q7 (only major difference besides minor cosmetic stuff is the dual screen center stack). This review literally covers all of the stuff in the car that can be found in the regular

Thank you to the commenters who so thoughtfully again replied to my rant. I appreciate all of your suggestions.

OT rant here. Just tried to read an article from yesterday about some poor sap who bought 9 junked cars while living woth an HOA.

I am writing this from my in-laws house in Idaho. I have been driving their 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer and it’s in absolutely fine condition. It was their primary car that went back and forth from the Bay Area to Idaho for the first 12 years, and the last 10 it has become the Idaho car that stays here.

Are those more lights behind the front wheel on the front quarter panel?! That is hideous either way. I am not sure what these designers are thinking these days. My wife wants an SUV next and I agreed, but while test driving a Lincoln Aviator the salesman pointed out the lighted Lincoln logo in the front grill- I told

Plenty of us have really good jobs. I have worked hard, was lucky enough to have a family who sent me to college and I graduated without debt. My wife and I are up there in earnings. Yet many people like me still can see the inequity in our economy. Just because someone makes a statement about economic inequality

Thank you for introducing me to the kick ass version of Nobody Does It Better. Love the original- Carly is great and loved the movie as a kid (it hasn’t aged well). But the Radiohead version is fantastic- Thom’s strengths and style as a vocalist are perfect for that tune. Can’t say the same for Rhinestone. Thom’s

Absolutely a heavy foot will render the gas mileage into fantasy land. That’s why I mentioned a light foot and someone who is looking to maximize efficiency. We all know the turbo engines these days only achieve their mileage ratings becoase they never dip into the turbo while droving the EPA loop.
