Those sales figures aren’t too shocking, at least on the Mazda 3. I was talking to the salesperson I work with at a Mazda dealership in Columbus and the only way you can get a 2022 Mazda 3 is to plunk down a deposit and order one (any trim level).

Where’s the editor when you need one? The CX-30 is not a BEV. lol
The current generation Camry drives me nuts - if it has the dual (four cylinder) or quad (v6), only 50% of the tips are actually used. Why add the second tip to the side that is completely non-functional?! (Either add a Y splitter and make them both functional or eliminate the extra).
Ford’s quality in the last decade on new models has been worse than Amazon Basics.
Don’t forget to burn the place down on your way out.
It’s definitely an improvement over the current generation, but it reminds me a lot of what the offspring of a Nissan Rogue and Honda CRV would look like, depending on the angle.
Where’s the accounting for the machinery required to extract oil from the ground, then transport it to a refinery, then refine it, then deliver it to the gas station, and all the power required to do that repeatedly over the life span of an ICE powered vehicle? I can’t reasonably believe that equates to only one…
The F1 TV feed initially said they were running their cars low on fuel hoping for a safety car. Interesting to hear it was a leak.
They made some good progress this weekend by running the cars light on fuel and praying for a safety car that never came. Lewis had to back off at the end because he was going to run out of fuel.
And WTF was Haas thinking leaving Mick out there on the mediums that long? They could have potentially had him in the points…
I’m honestly surprised with the new rule set that more teams haven’t begun copying the front runners to try to improve. I imagine next year the cars will look more alike as everyone comes to the same conclusions on the aero package.
Saw an all black one (EQS) last Thursday in the small town I live in (was shocked to see one here), then saw three Rivian’s between Saturday and Sunday.
I’d argue that it is this way in the TV series because that is how it is/was in the video game series.
When the first Halo game dropped (2001), EVs weren’t really on the radar at the time, and the Warthog was (still is) super cool. There was no way they were going to put an electric Warthog in the show due to the…
But Honda already developed the manual for the Civic, primarily in European and Asian markets where the take rate for a manual car is higher than the US.
I kind of feel the same way, but not totally. We really haven’t gotten to see much of his personality yet, and he and the Ferrari are in a different league this year.
Design is often a factor. Ford, Hyundai (& Kia) have had a lot of recalls in the past 20 years for fire risks due to design flaws in their non-hybrid cars.
Lots and lots of Ford F-series based pickups and SUVs, for one example. They’ve fixed this issue on recent year models, but have had other recalls related to fires (seatbelts!)
I’m curious to see how much more can be wrung out of this 1.6l 3 cylinder. Not saying it can’t be done, but I’m skeptical at the moment without a significant investment to keep it going.
Corolla Cross in one half of the plant, CX-50 in the other half. Totally different vehicles/platforms AFAIK (and can tell).
Not only that, but the Mazda 3 turbo gives more power and a much nicer interior (stuck with an auto, but it’s not a CVT) for around the same price or less than a fully optioned Integra.
It’ll be slower based on the specs. Heavier and less power.
