I still can’t stop laughing at how preciously out of touch that girl on Refinery29 was.

I mean, I can do a lot of things that would objectively be wrong, terrible embarrassing things to do.

And in telling those stories a sports journalist can do no wrong.

I grew up before Youtube, it’s really not that hard a concept to grasp that being shamed by the internet should be reserved for adults who do truly repugnant things or hold truly repugnant views.

When I get my pettiness up, I find myself disappointed that those kinds of commenters’ parents didn’t hold similar opinions strongly enough to do the rest of us a favor and make use of their Roe v Wade given right to choose.

To me this is the real problem. Calling out a kid for taking $5 they shouldn’t have is fine. That’s how little kids learn.

The problem with using the internet to shame people is that you can’t ever control whether the response is reasonably proportional to whatever misdeed they committed.

My two cents ... Progressives want to live with a sort of cognitive dissonance when it comes to Obama.
