God, we can’t even train Americans in one state to drive like Americans in the next one. In MD, the consensus seems to be that the left lane is for locking the cruise control at the speed limit, and the right ones for practicing swerving. Small wonder Europeans think we’re idiots.

Fair enough - I think it looks like him, you don’t. But yeah, it can be tough to to be certain either way based on that one photo. I suspect we’ll find out soon enough.

Yup - I just did a 180 from “jaded and super skeptical” to “OMG I want it now!” in like 3 seconds

/s?

I’m interested to see their take on an aging Bruce Wayne, especially with Keaton. And I’m not even a Batman fan.

I’m all for small pickups, and some model of small-ish truck will be my next purchase. I need a 4 door utility vehicle with a bed, and don’t want something enormous, expensive, or gas-guzzling. Hybrid is a bonus, as long as it doesn’t hurt the utility value.  So I'm happy to see this.

Good point, and one I’m going to need to look into further. My daughter is also a digital artist (student), and uses a small drawing pad with her laptop. I’ve just started looking at the Wacom tablets as an upgrade, which quickly get into iPad pricing.

Exactly. I did actually buy a cheapo Fire tablet for my kids at one point, but after the novelty quickly wore off it has gathered dust.

The one that leaves $1-2000 in my pocket for other hobbies. I’m a techie, and have survived just fine over the past decade without ever finding a compelling reason to own a tablet. Not seeing any features here that are likely to change that.

Counterpoint: cars and moyorcycles go to racetracks, Jeeps go to offroad parks or David’s yard. Too many drivers suck at driving, none of them are safe on public roads.

My inner pedant is twitching at your inner pendant. Unless you literally mean a pendant, in which case... yeah, you do you....

Came here for the Fear and Loathing reference, left happy.

I’ve always equated Sam Adams’ flavor (and lots of others since the micro-brew boom) with that of burnt-tasting coffees from places like Starbucks. Harsh and lacking balance. Like coffee, a good beer needs a mix of sweet and bitter, without one flavor dominating.

Meh. I grew up in Mass, and Sam Adams is a taste I associate with concession stands at places like the Garden, where the choices were Sam, Heineken, and Bud Light.  So, yeah - Sam wins, unless there's Harpoon at the next stand.

I didn’t say anything about preventing you from watching a dubbed version of Slapshots. Go ahead, if CG lips improve your experience, c’est le fun! If that limits (easy & legal) access to original language foreign films to the greater audience (whatever country they’re in), that will be a bad thing.

Yep, I did watch the demo. Did you review the creator’s site? It said nothing about who the intended audience was. It is as much about me as it is about you - we are both video consumers.

Fair enough, and you are the viewer they will probably cater to, at least in the states. While I want to see, and hear, the actors’ real performances. And I don’t mind having the subs on... hell, I even put them on for British programming, and that’s practically English ;)

Exactly, dubbed acting is of REALLY inconsistent quality. Sure, the Forrest Gump example above is quite good, but I’m sure they cherry-picked that as a demo for that reason.

“How? How the fucking hell would it reduce options?”

Is this real life?
