THIS is the variety show we’re looking for! The Christmas Special meets The Muppet Show, but with more dismemberment!

This. But Disney is going into at least some of these (the Cassian series) as a one-off miniseries, which is something that most American TV producers would never consider. A good story needs a clearly defined arc: beginning, middle, end. Like Good Omens. The American mindset is “we’ll make it up as we go, so long as…
One oddity of the three Ages is that they don’t cover the 30+ year “New Republic” period between RotJ and the Resistance stories. Maybe that means they have no intention to mine that period, but if Filoni ever goes back to resolve the Bridger/Thrawn story, that’s when it will take place.
We know that she’s back in the final season of Clone Wars. My hope is that next year’s Filoni will announce the “Quest for Bridger” series.
Let me guess... now they’ll follow OS X and Windows 10, and just have Android permanently stay at version 10, regardless of how many major releases they go through? Original.
50% more Suzy, to be precise.
I test drove the first model year of the gen 8 Impala out of sheer curiosity to see how it compared to its namesake (my dad had a gen 5 in the 70s). I’ve never experienced a more unpleasant car, and that includes some Russian and Chinese vehicles. Uncomfortable, cheap, plasticky, no road feel, no power, and ugly as…
Buyer beware: the F-16 ad doesn’t mention a clean title. He’s probably going to tell you that you can just register it up in VT with a bill of sale. But I got screwed trying to transfer the plates on an old F-4 into my state, and had to sell it for parts. YMMV.
Ewan as Obi Wan is one of the best things to come out of the prequels. I have no idea how they’d pull off a whole series about the Man In Brown (probably more like a recurring role, imo), but there’s no way I'd miss it.
Counterpoint: I brought my wife’s used CRV to the local CarMax, waited around the showroom for an hour while they did the assessment, and was given a lowball offer. Put a For Sale sign on it, parked it in the front yard, and had it sold within the week for more $. Maybe it depends on the car and/or the area, but I…
I disagree. Picking up random trash is altruistic, yes. But if you have the chance to give the litterer a ration of shit, and dump it back in his car, then you are giving him some (minor) repurcussion. Enough if that, and he may think twice next time.
Alas, littering is also something that is depressingly common in Russia. Not all Russians litter, of course. But the many who do, do so not just out of laziness, but with an attitude of “I just don’t give a shit that there’s trash everywhere”. Even when they go out of their way to visit some beautiful spot - say, a…
Same here, in New England in the 70s-80s, it was always long-A “data” (and my father was in data processing, so I definitely heard the word before Picard said it). Oddly, these days, while I still refer to data (plural) with the long A, I’m more likely to say “database” with a short A.
Wait... there’s really an R-rated Westworld/Terminator/Banana Splits mashup? How the hell did this fly under my radar?!?
Of course you can, this was proven by British researchers back in the 40s:
I really like Anderson’s films. But I also know many people, whose theatrical opinions I really respect, who can’t stand anything he’s done. I’m still not sure if they’re wrong, or if I am...
I’m interested to try the Beyond Sausage patties, if only Dunkin could find a way to make their fake microwaved eggs more palatable. Alas, I’ll just have to wait for a restaurant with a real grill to sell them.
If Kubrik could pull it off in ‘69, no reason the Mumbai studios can’t do it now. But all those low-g dance moves are gonna make it tricky.
On my Android, I finally gave up on Chrome and installed Firefox with the uBlock Origin extension. Now, between the paragraphs, I only see text blocks which say “Advertisement”. Best thing to happen to Kinja.
I watched it this year with a 14yo girl and a 10yo boy...
