I think that's a fair assessment. Honestly, I don't need a new AC every year. I can go every two or three years between games. I'd rather have a game of excellent quality with decent after-launch support than this every-year-must-cash-in stuff we get from Ubisoft and other publishers.

These days when I hear "more varied gameplay" all I can think is that they're adding more guns in a game that needs no more guns.

Given Ubisoft's recent history, I'm not sure polish is something we can look forward to with this game. It's likely being assembled by a wide variety of studios, just like other major Ubi games, and it will probably show. Certain aspects of the game will shine, others will be cringe inducing.

Yup. I feel like Ubisoft is kinda tapped out of ideas for Assassins Creed. And I hate the excuse for not using feudal Japan as a setting because they don't want Assassins to be equated with Ninjas. They're already fucking ninjas. In the immortal words of Dr. Steve Brule, "Who cares?"
