They only allow unaccompanied minors to fly direct and because you book in advance, they know how many minors have tickets and only grant 3/flight.

My oldest, who’s 18 now, has been flying alone back & forth across the country since she was five. And when our youngest was five (and oldest eight), they flew together alone. It was like clockwork. A lot of regulations and paperwork but otherwise uneventful.

Yeah but you forgot to account for the privileged students who transfer to less performing schools their senior year to grab a top 10% slot. It happens often. What then?

The obvious solution is to make the schools equal. Just how do you think that happens? The school “down the street” becomes the school for half your class and your elite school becomes the school for half the kids “down the street.”
