I saw this effect at CES a few years back, they had PotC running at 48 fps or higher and it looked like it was shot on a handycam. Now while one could argue it "cheapens" the experience, once you settle into it and see some crazy cgi shit it makes it all the more "real" and lets you really be awed by effects again.

I know it might come off as hyperbole, but this is pretty much the start of a new age of man. Seems maybe silly or whatnot now, just a bunch of crazy billionaires throwing their money at space, but that's how it starts.
