Yeah, but was it really worse than a Chevy Spark?

I don’t know. Without more pictures, it’s hard to be certain, but the wear on the shifter, headrests, parking brake, etc. doesn’t look like 140k of wear. The pedals and footwell wear would really tell the tale, but from what I see, it’s possible.
This seems like a lost opportunity for any American auto maker. There are no zero ‘subcompact’ cars being made by a US OEM (Yes, these are made in Korea, but it’s still a ‘Chevy’). Time for Stellantis to rebadge a Fiat 500 and call it a Dodge Shadow maybe?
On that I agree 100%. If I’m car shopping for a classic, I would want a true carburetor, or full on EFI. No half-measures.
Yes, but I think we need to remember that as an important middle step. Before true EFI was perfected, you had either carburetion, or mechanical fuel injection. Both had advantages and disadvantages, but when EFI was finally figured out, it was clearly superior to both.
Ouch! I’ve done bridge rehab, and a failure like that is grounds to close the bridge. I can’t believe someone inspected the bridge in the fall of 2021 and didn’t take it out of service. Good chance someone is going to need their professional malpractice insurance.
Mild disagree. My company pickup has the 3.5 EB, and it gets OK mileage, but does not have the equivalent power to a V8 when you put a real load behind it. That little V6 just struggles to keep highway speed, where a similarly built pickup with a V8 just cruises.
This is encouraging. Yes, they’ve only made several hundred vehicles, but every journey begins with a single step.
Excellent point. Engine / drivetrain parts should be reasonable for sure.
I like it. It doesn’t need a full restoration, just a ‘revival’. Sort the engine compartment out, change all the fluids and belts and whatnot. Deep clean it inside and out, then cut and polish the paint.
Why is batman’s face on the lens of those lamps?
Hmm. I don’t know. I bet that the residents of Tonga would be appreciative of some rapid response survival and medical supplies right about now...
I agree on the mixed feelings about this.
Where’s the Jalopnik coverage of this? This seems like bigger news.
That was too, but thinking back on it, I think you got the drill OR the impact, not both.

I like it. I don’t LOVE it, though. I’ll NP it, but it’s going to need some work. I feel like this is one of those times when you bring an envelope with $3,500 in it, a second envelope that stays in the truck with another $500 in it, and point out all the flaws - you’ll probably come home with the car for under $4k.
This same kit was on sale at Lowe’s last month, but for $199, and with a free third tool (a long list of options were available in-store)

Likewise here. The first thing I did when the restrictions lightened up, was take a trip to my favorite Chinese buffet.
So much brown. And where did that Jimmy’s wheels go?
Depending on the state, it might be a ‘transfer title’ or ‘temporary title’. Regardless, a title is a title.
