Price is proportional to their availability. They priced them high so they wouldn't sell out very fast. They've probably only have a 100 Xoom's made so at this price they wont sell out or at all for that matter..

@Kid_Wonderbread: Seems like I read that the CEO said the wifi version would be the first available Xoom. 3G would come later...but maybe I'm mis-remembering... But the pricing we've seen at BestBuy is for the 3G so guess we'll have to wait for their official announcement next week or whenever.
