I’ve been playing Guilty Gear for about a month now and SFV was on sale, so I snagged that too and sheesh, that online experience is night and day. I think it’s going to be an offline only game for me.

Guilty Gear Strive still has the shittiest lobby stability known to man, but if they fix that, it’s gonna dethrone a

Idk, I think making complete games is super difficult stuff regardless of who’s doing it or why because of all the assets required(code, art, music, sound effects, language options, etc). Even with shortcuts like pre-made code and marketplace assets, we’re still looking at a considerable amount of effort to even put

I think player/consumer agency is a good thing for the most part as well. But I’m also a strong believer in creator agency as well, and sometimes it comes down to one or the other in situations like this.

But in the grand scheme of things, this still feels pretty insignifcant in my eyes.

I’m not sure how adding a toggle and removing them later is that weird. They probably added the toggle as a solution to start and simply chose to remove it all together on greater thought.

Game devs are artists and are also very prone to finding themselves editing/changing their work when they don’t live up to their vis

You don’t need a license to *own* anything though, haha.

Like even things that are illegal to have without proper paperwork, that paperwork is a construct that lots of people choose to ignore and never face any consequence for doing so.

The issue though, is that these people still like the game and intend to play it. So even though there are probably better ways to protest, I’m not sure the crowd in question is the right one to even be putting under a scope in the first place.

It reminds me of IRL protests where the participants do everything in their

Great 90s joke, in a time where pornography can be accessed without a subscription to a magazine. I personally would of went with “I bet you watch porn for the plot.” That one is timeless.

But on a serious note, I’m being serious, lol. I’m an artist myself, so I’m usually looking at artwork from that perspective. Like

I like to imagine that’s why they keep making new games, haha.

Prison labor in America is also another pretty obvious form of slavery that continues to create hefty profit. People should talk about it more, as it’s a major part of the prison/police abolition movement.

The same way people can feel any sort of emotions/stimuli(sexual or not) from reading text in a book?

Just like text, art is a form of visual communication which our big ol advanced brains can use to interpret information. And like the emotional animals we are, we will take it where we can get it.

I mean, that’s cool and all but there’s still historical and cultural context that needs to be considered if we want to talk about nuance. The nuance of this situation is that America is in a bad(but powerful) spot that can’t simply be fixed by telling people facts. So all of our efforts have to go into solving that

I think that’s a self defeating approach. Totally fine if you aren’t into the style, but Guilty Gear has always been a very campy series, filled with over the top and edgy designs and characterization that only furthers that campiness.

I definitely agree that the designs are often very out-there and adhere to the Digim

I think for me, the fact that their outfits sit on them so perfectly, with no variation in how they wear them(cause it’s a game) my brain can’t comprehend that they are even able to take them off in the first place.

I need to see some slight wrinkles, or jackets worn half off or somethin and then I’ll fully believe

No I got your point. You’re saying it’s unnecessarily sexualized. I agree with your observation, but my point is who cares, as I’m only focusing on the craft not the content.

If someone’s store sign was a nude portrait of Ross Perot, but the execution was interesting, I’ma compliment it.

All those colors and nonsensical scifi tubes and notches, didn’t put themselves on the page I’m pretty sure. So even if you think the creativity is lacking, someone still took the time to make it, and I think it looks cool.

I’m actually a strong advocate for making license renewal a lot more frequent than something like a decade. Skillsets degrade if we don’t actively put effort into maintaining them and with cars mostly acting as a background tool for getting us to our actual focuses, it’s a recipe for lowering the bar.

Like, it can

Yeah but if they included all of that in the games/movies/media, how else would we be able to advertise the military as the most exciting career path, that will make everyone respect you and ultimately “save” America from Cobra Commander???

I’m not getting within 5 feet of this game, but that costume design from that artwork is really cool. If they use that as the promo image, they’ll at the very least get a bunch of people to click on it in the app store, lol.

The devs realized the game was too fun and inviting and didn’t want to that responsibility on their plate, so they had to do something to even out the player feedback lmao

I thought we as a society, moved past the willfully ignorant spiteful era of early 2000s tabloids, that treated mental illness and abuse like they were optional character flaws. Guess I was thought wrong.
