By the time I got to the end of the game, I felt like its wide variety of settings and art styles was itself an intentional style, fitting for the game’s travel theme. Personally, I really appreciated the number of things I experienced that felt like nothing I’d ever seen in a Mario game before.

Multi-moons mostly just serve as a big boost to help get you over the hurdle to advance to the next kingdom once you’ve completed the main story objective of the current kingdom. Giving out multi-moons for non-story advancement related things would be counter to their purpose.
