"… disturbingly sexy high-heels!"
this was a really good episode. just when i was seriously considering dropping the series, because, for all its qualities, i just didnt really enjoy watching it. this ep was a delight, though.
but does it vibrate?
LOL, i didnt know this was a thing. whats the story here? self-loathing & assimilation?
not impressed by the new uncanny x-force. but im willing to stick with it for a while. remenders x-force also took a while to show just how good it was.
the gay panic did make me slightly uncomfortable, but not enough to ruin this ep for me, which was pretty good overall.
dont be mean. this was a fun write-up.
i think you have a point here. writing dislikable main characters the audience will be taken by nontheless is really hard, and i think "girls" isnt pulling it off. those guys are just dislikable, period.
am i the only one who thinks "girls" is just incredibly dark and cynical? yes, i get that thats the point, but i think its just really excessively bleak. i dont really know if i *enjoy* watching it. all the main characters are just terrible people. i wish there was a little more warmth.
i picked up change because issue 1 has such a nice cover, and i thought it may be a little like glory and prophet, both of which i love. i didnt finish reading it. i thought it was unbearably pretentious, and just really tedious.
i only read the first issue of cable & the x-force, but man it sucked donkey balls. the story was boring, the characters were all flat. and i thought the art was pretty bad. i usually like larroca fine, but this didnt do it for me at all. his sense for design was always a bit shaky, and his redesign of nemesis is…
uhm… this very episode gave two examples of how "the mindscape" (memories, thoughts, hallucinations) can be depicted in a way that is aesthetically pleasing? which is the whole point of my post? whats your problem with that?

youre right, of course. still looked shitty. the sparkles were cgi, i guess.

the monty python animation and the 'projected on' scenes at the end were wonderful. the cgi fairy looked cheap and ugly. take that, cgi! also, i can only dream what fringe could do if it had the tim and budget for stop-motion, or clay-motion.
