minor spoilers for book 2

that promo picture
is hilarious!

agreed! i havent seen amanda seyfried in anything since, but i thought she was pretty terrible in VM. it doesnt help that, as much as i like bell, she isnt very convincing as a bimbo. so all the flasbacks have that 'why are those two even friends' feel.

watch the first two episodes, they are the show at its best. if you like them, watch the first two seaons. if you keep going after that, expect disappointment.

jennifer garner, actress
i think her acting in the pilot was pretty much flawless, but the two scenes she has in ep2 with garber (teary-eyed talks about danny) show her limits. its just too much. sure, the writing takes some of the blame, but i think garners tendency to go waaaay over the top with the melodrama is

i loved it at the time, but rewatching it, its a little too obvious how cheap the pay-off always is.

anna espinoza SPOILERS

"Don't make me regret working for people in their fifties. Forties!"

im not a expert by any means, but i wouldnt recommend samurai champloo unconditionally. the animation is gorgeous, but its not nearly as good as cowboy bebop.

SPOILERS

its good to not think about anya continuity too hard, since the character really doesnt make much sense if you think about it. that includes her amulet, her culpability, or the question whether or not anya has a soul. just accept what the writers want you to think of her in any given episodes. no, thats not good

yeah, after this, they really didnt know what to do with her anymore.

hell yeah, the x-men. mostly because i just love them to death, despite everything. but also because theyre pretty fucking powerful. in their current utopia incarnation, they are basically a small superpowered city that includes about every major and minor x-character ever. and should you die despite all the x-help,

i agree that alias is a somewhat empty show. but it has so much style, in this case, style *is* the substance.

cooper on alias: hot!

"…but there is practically no agreement as to when that point is."

ok, im glad im not the only one who doesnt really get the metaphor.

the trailer looks terrible, but im totally gonna see this, because
a) maggie q
b) im a sucker for post-apocalyptic stuff
c) maggie q
d) i actually like cam giganet, or whatever his name is
e) maggie q
f) maggie q
etc

kinda off-topic, kinda spoilerish: "war on terror"
ive read in the past somewhere* that s7 was a big metaphor for the 'war on terror'. maybe im just dense, but im not really seeing it. can somebody explain? what is whedons political message here? i can deduce what it might be from what i know about him, but im not

dawn in s7
i generally agree with the 'low opinion' of s7. it still has some good moments and elements, though.
