The burden of these interactions should be on law enforcement, but oh well.

They’d save way more money and make better progress by getting rid of racist/bully cops and training whatever’s left on how to respect and care for the people they’re paid to protect.

How ‘bout a bill that requires classes teaching police how to interact with kids?

I agree. I recently rewatched the scenes with Wonder Woman in BVS and the male gaze from Synder is REALLY clear. Glad WW wasn’t like that. (also someone told me the only smile in BVS was improv by Gal).

Yes, because you’re the objective arbiter of quality here, so if you didn’t enjoy something it must be bad and the rest of us are just not “recognizing” it. Wonder Woman is doing gangbusters business, with extremely low drops from weekend to weekend, because it’s getting a lot of repeat business. While you might be

Seriously.

“Senator, I guess you may be hard of hearing, but “touch” and “cut” are two different words that mean two different things. Would you like to try again?”

‘Good’ is subjective. If it isn’t your cup of superhero, that’s cool. But let’s not pretend that ‘good filmmaking’ is universally agreed upon.

Ya’ll not to be dramatic, but this movie changed me. For real, I just want to make Diana Prince proud.

You are going to dislike some movies that plenty of people like. *shrug* We all have opinions, and that’s fine, as long as you recognize them as such. This movie (I haven’t seen it yet but plan to) has a 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes, so most people like it. I’m pretty sure they are not all pretending, lying to

Woah. And think how much it would have made if a man had directed!

Did you...not read the damn article? There’s a WHOLE VIDEO for you at the end.

“This son-of-a-bitch was contradicting himself and blatantly lying with a straight face. It took me a second to compute what I just heard about “not cutting Medicaid” when they are very clearly cutting Medicaid.”

This is going to have a devastating effect on American society as Boomers retire and populations of people with age-related med. problems (like Alzheimer’s and mobility issues) increases. It is already nearly impossible to access adequate care for such patients. As is, it can be financially and emotionally devastating

The violence will go both ways. That can’t be avoided.

I wonder about that too. Nothing else is working, so how else to bring about change? However, someone reminded me yesterday that if widespread violence were to break out, martial law would be declared, and we’d all be completely fucked. Or, killed.

So, admittedly, this is the my most cynical take: he has nothing to lose. He’s well established but trying to save a project perceived to be in trouble, while still using a lot of the other guys’ work. If he fucks it up, hey, he did the best he could with what he had to work with. If it does well, hey, he saved it!

Now playing

“‘You shot four bullets into him, sir,’“ Noah said, quoting Reynolds. “It’s fucking mind-blowing that Diamond Reynolds has just seen her boyfriend shot in front of her. She still has the presence of mind to be deferential to the policeman. In that moment, the cop has panicked, but clearly black people never

So for the vague claim of “scent of weed,” they felt they had to go all-in on a massive instigation of all of her accounts? Really? More like, “we were hoping to turn up some photos/evidence to discredit this man to the public, so the officer would seem more justified in murdering him.”
