Technically, only one of them has kids now.
Just recently, I got into a bit of a racist “chat” with a few others. One person was reasonably discussing their views (albeit racist), so I didn’t feel they needed to be eschewed. But the others were blatant, and hateful racists, so I used “block user.” Now those particular commenters are shunned from my view.

Pretty much. The purpose of it in Nineteen Eighty-Four is to control the direction of angst and hatred that builds up in the Oceania society towards the “enemies” or “opponents” of their political party, creating a hive-mind system and keeping everyone in line.
