Of course Heimdallr would be the first to face down Ragnarok. IT’S IN THE ELDER EDDA PEOPLE!

From what we’ve seen, people retain their free will but find their worst tendencies reduced. Like that guy who found that he wasn’t afraid all the time but then he was thirsting for revenge, so Lena curbed his vengeful tendencies as well: at least on the surface he looks like he might be pretty emotionally stable at…
Hey, I’m just following your logic where it leads.
I had a feeling you would argue that. Well then, if imprisoning someone doesn’t compromise their bodily autonomy, explain why kidnapping people and holding them in your basement is a crime.
Well then, imprisoning people is unethical too, because it’s violating people’s bodily autonomy.
The best fix, perhaps, would be that the ASA / Markovia thing happened before CoIE. But the door closed on that one, unfortunately.
I have no desire to ship Louise and Rudy. Yeah they have a real bond; Rudy may be the only person outside her family she genuinely loves. That doesn’t mean the feelings are romantic though; it’s probably closer to King Kong and Naomi Watts, where Louise simply appreciates Rudy exactly as is.
I am at least 80% sure that, when MLK Jr was talking about White Moderates, he didn’t mean white people who want to see plausible numbers on M4A. He was talking about white people who seem to never be able to find the right time to make civil rights a priority.
About CoIE screwing up this show’s pacing, yeah, crossovers do that in the comics too. The only reason to do it was so Supergirl and the Flash and Batwo-Man could team up, and ... well, we haven’t had any payoff to speak of.
Good things this week:
Minority opinion (and years too late), but I don’t think Louise has romantic feelings for Rudy. Rudy’s her pal, she’s protective of him, and NOBODY gets to break his heart. Everything about the episode plays into that pretty well (although I do like the detail that Louise’s pride is mildly bruised when she realizes…
I guess it works if the point is, the Master has such limited understanding of the Doctor that he thinks a retcon would throw her for a loop, the way it threw him for a loop. And looking back, that’s exactly what the story gave us; it just didn’t smack me on the head with it, so I didn’t notice it on the first pass.
“Why did the Timeless Child Doctor regenerate so many times during her travels with Tecteun? Was that a natural part of her adolescence or were Tecteun’s experiments repeatedly killing her?”
I was certain this episode was going to rate an F—- because I always love the episodes that people hate and vice-versa. But I loved this episode, Kara and J’onn had great character moments, and more Thomas Lennon please.
Warren’s responsible for a lot of her luck. Sure doesn’t help that she decided to run as Bernie’s prom date, then tried to distance herself from M4A when she realized she couldn’t make the numbers work (Miss Got-A-Plan-For-That should have figured out, from single payer’s failure in Vermont in 2014, that the root of…
This is like a letter to a version of “Penthouse” that they don’t sell to white people.
“The DCCC is funding a non-incumbent in CA 25 right now. That they only fund incumbents is an outright lie.”
“They have consistently undermined progressive candidates by not funding them in order to pull more Republican-lite people”
It sure feels like the Democratic candidates are daring people of color to stay home. I’m not sure I can blame the Democratic Party itself, since I don’t think the Democratic Party selects the candidates to choose from. But there’s something wrong with the process if the top four candidates are pretty terrible on…
I wonder if the problem is, people have been stewing in a primary season where the top four frontrunners are all pretty terrible on racial issues, and they’ve been hoping someone would come along and provide a fifth viable option. Bloomberg comes along, presents himself as competent, and people are saying “fine, I’ll…
