“Conversely, of all the candidates, Joe Biden is the only candidate who has worked for a black man. In fact, Joe Biden spent eight years of his life surrounded by black people (Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Eric Holder, Susan Rice, Jeh Johnson, etc.) who he knew were smarter and more excellent than he was.

If, on the other hand, I’m accurately describing what happened - and I am - then my disappointment is warranted.

But we DO know. Eleanor chose to walk through that door, same as Chidi and Jason. They chose giving up. Now maybe after giving up, they were given a new set of choices that allowed them to influence the living ... but the point is, 3/4 of Team Cockroach opted for re-absorption into the cosmos.

Eleanor chose to dissolve into the universe, after she’d completed all the vacation activities she could think of. So did Chidi and Jason. Even if their goodness got repurposed in a fashion, what was missing was the active choice to go back and make earth a better place. I could see Chidi wanting to do that, for sure.

Nahh, I didn’t like it. The finale missed something that I think is crucial to any sort of “Good Place” appropriate to human beings: that we do meaningful work, particularly in the form of helping others. Lord knows that helping others was a theme of the show and everything Chidi ever taught.

Fair enough. Personally I’m enthusiastic, and hope they’ve got a plan to make copious use of Jo Martin.

... hey Marceline, do you ever watch “Doctor Who”? Because, and forgive me if I’m spoiling anything, but ...

He is WITHOUT HONOR.

I could see squeezing a new face between 2 and 3 easy enough; as I recall, we didn’t actually see Troughton turn into Pertwee, just the Time Lords forcing Troughton to regenerate and next thing we know the TARDIS shows up on earth with Pertwee stumbling out.

There’s an old Tom Baker episode (I think it was where Leela first appeared) where it is implied that the Doctor had a lot more faces than the ones we were familiar with. This was before the “only 12 regenerations” rule came up, so it wasn’t all that problematic to insert some extra previous faces.

Well, now’s the time for final predictions. Here is mine: they’re going to realize that they misdiagnosed the problem of The Good Place and so they will need to do a better fix. Human beings need to face challenges, overcome them, and feel proud of having done so; and what’s more, people who made it to the Good Place

That guy who got the autographs from Kara and Barry, that guy who identified himself as “Marv” ... that had to be Marv Wolfman, right? He had a Terry Long=y kind of vibe to him.

I thought for sure Bella was going to stand revealed as a hallucination of Ryan’s, and if you watch the episode, the first point at which that doesn’t hold up is when Bella grabs the gun and reveals her agenda. But prior to that, nobody but Ryan reacted directly to Bella. For example, when Graham is looking for Ryan

You know your Pertwee era and I approve. Not that the Master’s efforts to hypnotize Jo were always successful. Here, have my favorite Katy Manning moment:

I was happy with this episode and the only thing I didn ‘t like was the laser shoes — they were just a bit too goofy. I would have been happier if Graham had held the shoe and struggled to sound threatening.

Will you at least allow for the possibility of emotional states between “hate Republicans with a fiery passion that will never die” and “love them more than life itself”? I don’t see that you’re making any room for that. Biden presented a minimal requirement for a Republican to even merit consideration — just

Biden has said he would consider a Republican if and only if they would do something that no Republican would ever do.  That is no “indictment” of anything, except the Republicans.

I laughed when I saw the matchbox, because I predict there will be a collectible version of that by the end of the month. That said, as a guy who loves the Pertwee era and remembers Roger Delgado fondly, I’m glad to see the Master return to basics, and Sacha Dhawan is utterly nailing it.

Four years ago, people were twisting every damn thing Hillary said into proof that she’s as bad as the Republicans. And for the entirety of Obama’s presidency, people were pulling that on him. The end result of all that was people being discouraged and demoralized on Election Day, and letting increasing numbers of

At least Biden IS a Democrat, which is more than I can say for Bernie.
