I love the idea that a character that's been on the air for a decade can still be considered malleable. This show.

I was shocked because it seemed like such a step back.
It seems like another Moffat "I'm so cool" character quirk that does absolutely nothing.
Oh! Also! More 10th Doctor references!
Am I the only person who is getting sick of the guitar-playing? It seems so out of character with S8 Doctor, even though I appreciate how much Capaldi obviously enjoys it.
Is it pricey for them? I don't know because I've already paid for all of it.
I could see him still rolling his r's but doing some kind of godawful Appalachian accent.
I can't believe the difference we got between the Andrew Garfield of that show and the Andrew Garfield of Spider-Man. Actually, maybe Doctor Who actors do bad American on purpose, as part of the entertainment?
What's with the hokey American impressions this season? It makes me squirm uncomfortably.
Say that when you listen to Three's A Crowd.
I mean, this is where "too young for the role" may come in, but I'd disagree that either saw it purely as a resume-filler. Certainly not Tennant.
Apparently I need to get on SJA because I'd LOVE to see Smith written by a different show runner. I think he would have been my favorite Doctor in history if someone else had taken over for S6-7.
YES! Enlightenment might beat out Caves for me, honestly.
I totally agree with you. Kinda and Awakening are both excellent and I even enjoy the little two-parters. Davison is my second favorite classic (after Troughton). There's a lot to not like, just as with any Doctor, but I think Davison had lower lows and there's too much focus on that. I also think people mistake…
I'm not quite sure why, but I didn't enjoy this episode as much as others. The talk about immortality seemed very par for the course, like obviously this was the tack they were going to take, losing perspective is always the problem with immortality. Maybe I've just watched too many vampire movies.
I think it's all a subtle 10 year anniversary set-up. Nothing big, but just a thematic resonance throughout the series (like Time Lord Victorious) and then maybe Jack or Donna or Martha showing up.
I really, really want to like Cornell. I really do. His prose might be too abstract for me, but I haven't tried Human Nature yet.
I need to believe in Season 6B in order to sleep at night.
Frazer Hines and Katy Manning had photos too! I think Capaldi is just a huge nerd who likes inviting old companions to his TARDIS.
He was! Mostly as an in-joke I think. But he still does Jamie audios and it's not like his age difference was ever mentioned in The Two Doctors.
