I think Rogen was supposed to be more of a joke casting than Wiig. He wasn't really supposed to be imitating the character, just kind of bumbling around. I can see where people wouldn't like it, but I thought it worked well.

I'm pretty sure they just introduced AIM in this film so they could just replace Pearce with MODOK in a later one.
Isn't this supposed to be a season of references though?
I think if we really find out it will actively detract from the show.
The very first thing we hear in the audio montage is Susan saying "Time and Relative Dimensions in Space" from An Unearthly Child.
They're all sassy.
Hey, I liked Planet of Short-Shorts just fine!
It looked like a Classic Who costume, so I just took it as an aesthetic nod.
This idea had sort of occurred to me and I hadn't been quite able to vocalize it, but you're absolutely right! "Rings" did seem particularly like a first doctor episode because it was all about exploring different cultures and seemed more educational than adventurous. Then when we have the Doctor speechifying at the…
Not necessarily. The TARDIS has had grudges against perfectly "normal" companions simply because it didn't believe they were good enough for the Doctor. I get the sense that Harry and Peri weren't favorites.
I'm imagining Clara is Ace's bomber jacket and I think my life needs more fanart.
@avclub-d89b833158f0d9a73fd33bb243fe5786:disqus The idea of Jamie and Ace together always makes me want to squee and watch stabby explosions. Give it to me, anniversary specials! Clara would be interesting if they gave her character a bit more internal depth.
"I am now imagining an entire hidden season of 1983-set Doctor and Clara adventures, and it’s glorious."

What's strange is that I'm not even slightly embarrassed that I have seen all the episodes referenced.
It's like people who have flaws/virtues in real life!
I happened upon this article while I was listening to the latest Thrilling Adventure Hour, which guested JGL. It's like my life is trying to tell me something.
I loved Dean and hated Jess the first time through (15-16) and loved Jess and found Dean to be more problematic the second time through (16-17). So I'm wondering how I'll feel five years later.
But it really is a shame that they kind of dumbed Dean down in order to make Jess seem more appealing.
NGL, sang this in the shower this morning just thinking about the show.
You mean it WASN'T supposed to be something about Obama?!?
I'd also like to comment on the observation that a lot of well-known actors are in this show. It was actually because of Gilmore Girls that I started watching Supernatural and Heroes, I was just at that right age, so I really owe this series a lot in terms of TV and musical education.
