I work in the auto industry and that is correct. There are specialists that will move if the pay is very good and there are field/engineering roles that require movement between locations, but those are salary. No one is moving to Princeton Indiana for 3 bucks extra an hour.

We make having access to a washer/dryer a requirement for most of our travels (Europe is a bit tougher, but most US hotels have suite options). Means paying extra but with kids under 10 having access to something to clean clothing is a god send :-)
