The complacent ones are just as crooked as the ones that are nakedly corrupt. They’re quiet, but no less willing to subvert the laws they swear to uphold. In a just world, not only would they be criminally prosecuted for this, there would be mandatory minimum sentences for their conduct.

I mean, it is. Those two Giants teams got hot late, rode into the playoffs on winning streaks with records no better than 10-6, stunned presumptive NFC favorites as the visiting team (Cowboys and Niners once, Packers twice), and ultimately won titles.

Those are great BBQ  joints. I’d also throw in Lockhart’s.

To be fair, Odell’s extended family is quite fond of corn. And oats. And grass.

What if he’s his own great great great.... great great grampa?

It would be a massive hole filled with massholes, and the hole would happen to be in Massachusetts, so... The Big Dig II: Electric Boogaloo

The midterms weren’t a one-fix solution. They were the prerequisite victory we needed to keep any hope of addressing global warming (and ensuring the survival of both mankind and the biodiversity of Earth) alive.

It’s telling that the guy who filmed this incident had this initial impression:

Exactly. They’re actually doing something other than whining into the void. Hell, that VSA site helped me plan my ballot before Election Day.

Ditto. I find their podcasts informative and entertaining, especially DeRay’s and Lovett’s. And they’re helping push the Democratic platform further to the left. I don’t get why Nick Martin (and apparently most of Splinter) has such vitriol against them. Though that Miller guy should probably quit.

Why is it that the Democratic Party in Congress, when given a chance to actually take advantage of political momentum from the midterms, decide to spite progressivism yet again and decide to go more to the center-right?

I remember generally how people felt about him on here. He always struck me as an occasionally useful thorn in Trump’s side. He was shady, brash, and knew how to play the media - not unlike Trump. It’s no surprise he knew how to mess with him.

The thing is, those things you mentioned - the decreasing value of college degrees, the scarcity of good-paying jobs, the nonexistence of affordable real property, severe income inequality, crippling student loan debts, the seemingly inevitable destruction of our environment due to global warming - are certainly worth

For what it’s worth, I think* that the events of the last few years have really activated a number of progressive voters. People that never really paid attention to politics in the past are now understanding the importance of voting, and the consequences of not. Most crucially, a lot of young voters who first voted

This purge blows, and the writers were dumb to do this.

Do U?

I think it means getting the ball to the tight end.

Damn fucking right

Also, does anyone actually believe he’s going to live long enough to finish the books? The series did him a solid and gave fans of his work some modicum of closure, even if they don’t exactly follow the trajectory of the books. GRRM can pass into the next world secure in the knowledge that his grand tale has an

Not to get too off track, but I’m pretty sure H.P. Lovecraft would’ve been one of those terrified white dudes you described were he alive today. The guy was a disgusting xenophobe and white supremacist in life. He once wrote a poem in 1912 called “The Creation of N******” that called black people “semi-human form[s]
